Head and top of torso. I never intended to go this far really, but my initial interest is the vision and AI system, and I wanted to print ‘just enough’ to have fully mobile neck, head and eyes.
this is also what i have planed when i get my prusa mk2 fixed i have the skull done and the eyes and a few pieces of the torso need all the head internals tho

Hi Mats, thanks for the links. I had seen the first one, but not the Andreas version. 🙂 My build so far (which is only the skull really) uses the standard huge servo for the neck, so I’ll have to see how much space I can find. I’m using the ‘new eye mechanism’ on Gael’s Build Yours log, as well as the articulated neck based on Bob Houston…[Read more]
I am using PETG, and really like the strength and finish that I\’m getting. Mostly I like that it prints without odour or fumes, as I find ABS quite unpleasant to have printing in the same room where I am working.

I want to try and fit a Raspberry Pi inside the skull if I can, and as I had a ‘spare’ Pi Camera laying around I modified another part to make a Pi Camera version of EyeBallSupport_X_LeftV1. Posted to Thingiverse.

Hi Wayne. I’m not sure if you have seen this: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:994720 I made several modifications to the interior of the head to make it possible to fit the PI in the head. Perhaps it can give you some ideas. After making it I changed the back of the neck to use this design. http://www.thingiverse.com/make:251020 made by Andreas.

Looks great, but you had me worried for a moment when I compared to mine! Is there a reason you\’ve mounted the eye mechanism upside down vs. Gael design? Does it give you some benefit? I don\’t have a completed skull yet, to see how the clearances and space work out with your orientation. 🙂
Hi Wayne – very good point about it being upside down! I am not sure if it will fit in the head that way around but at least I could hold it in the vice whilst taking the video. Been waiting on the camera parts to arrive before I finish the head – camera finally arrived yesterday.
