Hi ! This a poc of NeopixelRing control from MRL. I think there is a better solution but it works for me. And I don’t know how to make a service. Ino come with some samples.

    What I do :
    – Connect NeoPixel to Arduino Nano
    – Flash it with : https://github.com/MyRobotLab/pyrobotlab/blob/master/home/moz4r/Neopixel_MRL.ino
    – Connect Nano to computer…[Read more]

Great! One suggestion though, InMoov is much slower with 5V than with 6V.
I think you would really benefit of more speed with two DC-DC converters from your 12V to 6V.
Are you using the Raspi2 for post processing or did you a system on it with MRL on it?
My tests were too slow for video fps with the Raspi2. Couldn’t do good Face tracking. But it…[Read more]

Hi ! yes my DC convert to 6V it’s ok . All the system is Embedded on Raspi2 I agree some fonctions are slow ( analog poling ) . PI3 , It’s maybe a good news for us I will test it :…[Read more]

@admin hello Gael, I look for the camera megapixel in left eyes, what is the reference please?? thanks you.

Hello lilly, it was a very cheap microsoft webcam.
      http://www.walmart.com/ip/Insten-USB-16.0-Mega-Pixel-Webcam-Camera-With-Microphone-Mic-For-PC-Latptop-Skype-MSN/43627769
But remember it is not HD, so if you plan to use Opencv in MyrobotLab, it will have a bit difficulty to do a correct face tracking.
I recommend getting the Hercules HD Twist.

I like your drive system. Can you share some details about the components you used to build it – motors, servos?

      • Profile picture of Sebastien
Sebastien replied 9 years, 11 months ago

Thank you Bob, this InMoov plateform is widely inspired from the one Gael made. My components are coming from old broken stuff to make it low cost as it is a temporary solution waiting for legs :-).

The arduino uno that manage the inmoov neopixel ring is now also used to read commands coming from a wireless PS2 Gamepad ( thanks to Bill Porter…[Read more]

Awesome, now we can go racing!!
Thanks for all the links. I am still using a huge Transmitter gracefully given by Alessandro during the Paris Makerfaire, but I really want to build something much smaller which could transmit directly to the receiver.

Sebastien and Gael, Thanks for sharing the details on your bases. They are very simple and efficient. How much weight can the base carry/move around. Gael, yes, EZ Robot can do the voice controls as well. I can run my drive motors with Voice command, or manually on the computer or mobile app. I’m looking at building a lighter base like this but…[Read more]

    Hello,
Just to share with you the very first wheel spin of Airwin this night. I hope the small motor coming from an old electric Kids Toy will not soon burn.

      Ehi!!!
There is something of a Déjà Vu.
Using a golf caddie is a very good option!
Is it sturdy enough? I am pretty sure your motors will do the job, InMoov is a light fellow!

      • Profile picture of Sebastien
        Sebastien replied 10 years ago

Gaël, yes it’s widely inspired from what you do 🙂 . (i first write Wildly Inspired 🙂
        Sure “light is right”
This Golf caddie is in aluminium so it is really sturdy, don’t know how many clubs it can support but one InMoov seems ok.

great Marten ! i will try reduce print speed with 100% infill . 226° is not too hot ?? I use simplify3d no Wall Thickness settings just perimeter shell .

        • Profile picture of Marten de Groot
Marten de Groot replied 10 years, 1 month ago

          Hello Anthony,

226° is a high temp, the UM2 has a lower temp as the display is showing.
And with this temp I get good results 🙂
Sometimes I set the temp a bit lower, after the first 10 layers.

Do you have a picture from your end results ?
If yes, it good be handy to give a better advice where it go’s wrong.

I checked the K8400 and see there…[Read more]

ok I start at bigger temp too it better to attach bed . This is it : ( the middle is already glued ) : http://lerendezvousdelaterre.com/tmp/piston_cut.jpg .

Marten de Groot replied 10 years, 1 month ago

Looks good Anthony, I think only you need to start the fans from a higher layer !
I see a lot of warping at the bottom side, this happens when the PLA is cooling down to fast.
The best way is to start slowly with the fan speed around layer 30 (3mm if you are using 0.1mm layer)

Also check that the print bed is close to the nozzle. If the distance is to far, the first layer will not stick well to the bed. The first layer should create a solid piece of plastic without gaps.

It is interesting to see how 3D printers have improved in 3 years.
When I started the project, most printers could only print with raft which would have been a pain when assembling together those two piston parts.
Today with heated bed and good sticking surface it becomes easy to print parts in different directions. Also support printing is so…[Read more]

I need to improve cooling, sorry the fishes for the hack i try something : air-pump flow ( i need better pump, flow is not strong enough ) : http://lerendezvousdelaterre.com/tmp/aqua.jpg

Yeh I remember it’s like paper printers !
This is support killer : I dont need glue anymore but 6 hours … 🙂 Print is perfect 80% infill inside http://lerendezvousdelaterre.com/tmp/support-killer.jpg

      Hello Anthony,

I hope this will give the option to monitor each finger.
As you can see, the value isn’t straight (it’s now a pulsed signal) because of the 50HZ servo position update/feedback timing.
I think we need something like a RC (Resistor/Capacitor) network, to filter the 50HZ to a constant…[Read more]
