I have been building and donating the hackberry hands for a little bit and a mans sister contacted me asking if i could donate one to her brother but i feel it wont be suitable for his particular…[Read more]

Hi ! This a poc of NeopixelRing control from MRL. I think there is a better solution but it works for me. And I don’t know how to make a service. Ino come with some samples.

    What I do :
    – Connect NeoPixel to Arduino Nano
    – Flash it with : https://github.com/MyRobotLab/pyrobotlab/blob/master/home/moz4r/Neopixel_MRL.ino
    – Connect Nano to computer…[Read more]

did you try to increase the number of top layers to print?

        • Profile picture of Jeremy
Jeremy replied 9 years, 7 months ago

yeah the default was 1mm and i changed it to 2mm the same as my walls

juerg replied 9 years, 7 months ago

I do not know of available settings in mm. I assume it is the number of shells and is depending on the selected layer height.
For the outer shell you should probably use 3 shells, for top layers I would select 3-6 layers depending on the filling grade you selected. A low filling grade will result in wider gaps which will give you a less flat…[Read more]

so it seems that not enough filament is being extruded. i add a little pressure to the extruder tensioner it does better prints, but i cant sit there for hours holding it at the right spot and the spring doesnt seem to be doing much

This is a wheel base i made for my inmoov robot. The basic idea is from Gaels wheel base.
You must have some welding skills to complete this base construction.
The servos i use is turnigy 1270HV 40kg.
You can find stl files for 3d printed parts at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1548858

So far in this project I have converted all the right hand stl files to CAD files (I use inventor). I have had to make many corrections and additions to make things fit right as well as fix weak areas in the prints using thin (0.8mm) strips. I use acetone glue to attach the strips to strengthen the arm which has broken on me a couple of times as…[Read more]

      • Profile picture of Aaron Wegner
Aaron Wegner replied 9 years, 7 months ago

I printed the forearm as two pieces for top and bottom (4 pieces total) and glued together as per instructions. Since I print with ABS plastic , I typically use the acetone glue method, however for the top and bottom of the forearm the mating surfaces don’t have uniform contact so the joint was weak. So after tacking with acetone glue I injected…[Read more]

That forearm as 1 unit looks great! I am getting ready to begin printing my arms. I was wondering what a solid piece would look like.

    • Profile picture of pedro
pedro replied 9 years, 7 months ago

Can you tell me where to get the stl for the one unit forearm? mine look a bit stupid as 2 pieces and will probably break

      • Profile picture of Aaron Wegner
Aaron Wegner replied 9 years, 7 months ago

as per above I posted above this is 2 pieces and needed to be glued together. Since I use ABS plastic for my prints. Splitting is a real problem for tall thin items which only get worse for really all items. Lower shrinkage plastic – like PLA may work better for a combined part.
I consider this version a prototype and I have decided to start work…[Read more]
