• I used the InMoov as part of my research project. Hope you guys like it! I used WinMoov control software – http://winmoov.com/

  • The larger servos are finally ordered to articulate the shoulders and waist! Not long now \’til the first lecture delivered by robot! 😀

    Hello everyone!
We are the group of students and professionals of the FabLab of Tyumen State University. We’ve come together on the 1st FabLab School for students. Then we’ve been working on this project started in FabLab by Kot Begemot The Great. We’ve already printed hand, forarm and parts of bicep, head and torso. not sure how clear this picture is but i am having problems getting a nice finish on the last layers of my abs prints.

    • theres some pits, dont know if the hot end needs the temp turned up from 240 or if its clogged a little .

      • did you try to increase the number of top layers to print?

        • yeah the default was 1mm and i changed it to 2mm the same as my walls

          • I do not know of available settings in mm. I assume it is the number of shells and is depending on the selected layer height.
For the outer shell you should probably use 3 shells, for top layers I would select 3-6 layers depending on the filling grade you selected. A low filling grade will result in wider gaps which will give you a less flat…En afficher davantage

            • yes 2 shells sorry im new to 3d printing i will try your suggestions today

    • so it seems that not enough filament is being extruded. i add a little pressure to the extruder tensioner it does better prints, but i cant sit there for hours holding it at the right spot and the spring doesnt seem to be doing much

This is a wheel base i made for my inmoov robot. The basic idea is from Gaels wheel base.
You must have some welding skills to complete this base construction.
The servos i use is turnigy 1270HV 40kg.

So far in this project I have converted all the right hand stl files to CAD files (I use inventor). I have had to make many corrections and additions to make things fit right as well as fix weak areas in the prints using thin (0.8mm) strips. I use acetone glue to attach the strips to strengthen the arm which has broken on me a couple of times as…En afficher davantage

    • aaron did you print he foreharm parts as one? i mean rob2&5 and 3&4?

      • I printed the forearm as two pieces for top and bottom (4 pieces total) and glued together as per instructions. Since I print with ABS plastic , I typically use the acetone glue method, however for the top and bottom of the forearm the mating surfaces don’t have uniform contact so the joint was weak. So after tacking with acetone glue I injected…En afficher davantage

    • That forearm as 1 unit looks great! I am getting ready to begin printing my arms. I was wondering what a solid piece would look like.

    • Can you tell me where to get the stl for the one unit forearm? mine look a bit stupid as 2 pieces and will probably break

      • as per above I posted above this is 2 pieces and needed to be glued together. Since I use ABS plastic for my prints. Splitting is a real problem for tall thin items which only get worse for really all items. Lower shrinkage plastic – like PLA may work better for a combined part.
I consider this version a prototype and I have decided to start work…En afficher davantage

    Hi Ivor here,
Working for an engineering company in Australia as the marketing manager.
I am currently building a 3 printer at the moment (not a company project but as hobbyist under the supervision of our robotics designer). When complete I will start on the bot.
    Looking forward to it!

    • Look for Humanoid, she is from down under too and is at least in your time zone and quite active in the MRL shoutbox.

      • Thanks for that, I have made contact.

        • Hi there. I only just got your message as I’ve been hovering mainly around the myrobotlab shoutbox. I’ve just finished the head, torso, left arm, shoulder and lower stomach. Currently printing the right arm. Highly recommend the myrobotlab web-site. They are really helpful and friendly. Good luck with your 3D printer.

    • Excellent finish lan – and good color scheme as well, cant wait to see it completed !

    • Head: did you close openings after printing or do you have an stl from the complete head? Are your willing to share it?

    • excellent chest piece and updated face. Are you willing to share it. It looks amazing keep up the awesome work.

This is InMoov implemented in ROS URDF. This is the first step before you can integrate him with other tools, like Gazebo simulation or MoveIt! inverse kinematics and pathing. There’s alot of work left to do, but it’s coming along nicely.

    • Hi Alan
      Looks great, congrats!
Are you using combined stl’s for the movable parts? I had startet to build them but it’s a lot of work and so far it’s by far not finished.
Played around with kinetics (did you see my « look at hand ») but my math background it rather week and I am not really able to follow e.g. the stanford university lessons with…En afficher davantage

      • Hey juerg,

I do remember seeing that video, it was really impressive. One of the reasons that I’m moving over to ROS is for the inverse kinematics packages that are already there, like MoveIt.

It took me most of last weekend, but I was able to combine all of the stls that I needed to, reset the origins in MeshLab, then used robot_editor to…En afficher davantage
