Okay heads up!! Check for the eye mecanism, I have recently updated the linkage between both eyes. The part is called EyeMoverSideV4. It gives you now the opportunity to adjust the angles of both eyes interdependently in x direction.
We have 2 servos for eyes so do we need eyemoversideV4 ?
Interesting color combination. Did you come to the Geek PIcnic? Have we meet?
Hi Gael! It would be nice to meet you, but I live on a very far east of Russia. On the border with China. My students have seen you at a Geek PIcnic in St. Petersburg. Here some of the projects of my research lab (sorry only in Russian), you can watch the video: http://bgpu.ru/lit/science.html http://bgpu.ru/lit/technopark.html
Great! a patient builder I see.
Nice prints, now you need the head!!
Ahoy!!! I want to see a video. Nice work on the wheels, we need more details.
Nice progress, did you order the servos already?
coming soon… ALiexpress

Any event is good, right? I saw the video on youtube with the music!
Woo oo it is began!
Hey nice place to work, it seems less messy than my workshop!
Getting good, InMoov getting soon alive.
Good assembly!
Nice! you will need to add the palm hand covers to make sure the ring and pinky finger don’t fall downward like in your video. See link bellow: http://inmoov.blogspot.fr/2012/08/this-will-help-i-am-sure-about-it-there.html
Nice posing, I see you are getting good with gesture programming.
And another one in mother nature!! Well done Markus!
Hey this is cool scripts!! Good job Markus I have been using your random scripts within my InMoov2.full3 script
If you are a beginner even with Arduino, I recommand the Finger starter kit.
Ok, thank you.
Hi Jhack, nice! Thanks for posting. no problem encountered during the assembly of parts?

Hey great, I can see improvements in getting the scripts adapted. And now Rob InMoov can fully move.

Timelapse at Canterbury University New Zealand
Good job Markus! I can see that the previous film done at home with your children has help you to get on the front of the audience.
Not easy to synchronize all the InMoov actions and your speach together.

I can\’t imagine how much time this has taken to prepare. Thanks for posting. I like the idea to bring humor in your presentation!
Cool Markus, did you make the script available in https://code.google.com/p/myrobotlab/source/browse/trunk/myrobotlab/src/resource/Python/examples/?r=2014
Hi and welcome to InMoov, This new hand isn\’t yet released for several reasons.
Ehehe, it\’s good you got it completed. As you know I\’m still working on the new hand for prosthesis purpose, although I still haven\’t finished. Really lack of time unfortunatly.
Great moments. One very interesting thing I noticed through the various events I\’ have attended, if the robot doesn\’t move, people don\’t even pay attention, they can walk right next to it and not even see it. At the moment the robot starts to move, it all of a sudden catchs the crowd
We want pictures!!
It is funny, seen like this it looks like a sculpture. what do you plan to do with this reduced model?
will use it mostly for fitting the new cosmetic parts before I print the final one., also nice for testing painting the parts.

Hey cool! Feeling nice when it finally starts to make some movements through scripts, doesn\’t it?
Thank you Gael Yes it is quite mesmerizing when he moves and talks. I am trying to get Rob ready for a 3d printer expo in Detroit Michigan on June 9-14.
http://rapid.sme.org/2014/public/enter.aspx
Should be an interesting time. Thanks again for your gift to all of us in the opensource world. It is amazing.
BoB tried to post his latest video, but apparently he has problem doing it, He asked me to try for him, let see if it works:
Very nice setup for a mini MakerFaire. I can see you got yourself some T-Shirt done. Robyn keeps his hat at all time!
Ahaha, this one is really great! Robyn InMoov feels cool being in the car.
Hey cool! I can see that you robot is getting movements now! I\’m glad you finally get to use scripts. Greetings to Mom Rob. 🙂
I found this InMoov with a mobile platform on YouTube:
Very complete Alexander, thanks for posting. Did you try out using kinect gestures?
Not yet, but i’ll try

Interesting way of hooking up the tendons to the servo horns. Is it to make it easier for adjusting?
Ehehe, very nice! InMoov in Stockholm! We want pics!
The squarry pot support is good! Thanks for sharing it on Thingiverse. There is an explanation for the difficulty to assemble the shoulder with my tuto. I made the tuto a long time after having the shoulder built, and I had a bit forgotten the various steps I had gone through the real assembly.
Gee!!! you took Terminator\’s head to school? The association is not fortunate for InMoov\’s reputation, ahaha!
InMoov needs arms or the Google car.
I wonder if the questions were different than during an event. The students have reflection that go sometimes beyond our minds.
Very cool demo! Thanks for posting!

okay I just ordered a box, but if you want a quick build, don\’t wait for my test. 🙂
hehe. Will try to order some springs too (or find them in Paris).
I have the exact same box at home. Its very useful to have.
and it’s cheap. most springs are expensive if you buy just 20.
Gael Langevin posted a new activity comment 10 years, 9 months ago
Actually the type you selected should be fine, but I have no idea how much tension would be required. I suggest getting a cheap box of various springs on ebay and run some test, then we will know what is the best. http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Spring-Assortment-Set-200pc-AST23-/121255490804?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1c3b63f4f4

No I haven\’t tried yet, I want to order a box of various springs on ebay.
Very nice. I like that.
Nice to see InMoov robot using another platform like EZ although it isn\’t OpenSource. :) You finally got the shoulder mounted correctly, I\’m glad about that.

To Fred and others: https://groups.google.com/group/inmoov/attach/151d3d256a4108f0/spring%20tensioner1.jpg?part=4&authuser=0 This is how I see a spring added to the retraction tendon. In this set up we avoid forcing on the servo either way of rotation and it also avoid losing tension in the tendons.
Have you already tried this ? If so, what kind of spring do you use, and where to buy it ? 🙂 (ok, I’m lazy 😉 )
No I haven’t tried yet, I want to order a box of various springs on ebay.
Damn, I tried to post a picture in my previous comment to show you how to set the spring to avoid the tension you are describing on the servo, but it didn\’t show. I will send it to you by mail.
It is not the derivative : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:233923 that you used for the pulleys?
No. It’s your pulleys, with a modification inspired by the derivative 233923 : no need print again pulleys, just drill and use small wood screws. I used little nuts instead of washers (I did not have washers so small).
This combination allows you to adjust the tension of the tendons much more easily than with knots 🙂
Great thanks for posting your pics!! I think I recognize the color choice, ehehe!
Hey That\’s great news!!!
The spring called \”ressort tension\” is more interesting I think, as I already suggested in various posts to use a spring on the retract tendon to keep both tendons always with a correct tensionning.Images intégrées 1
I try to use a spring on the retract tendon retraction in a few days because the tension on the servo is too strong and it suffers from this tension.
What kind of spring do you use or recommend ?
Damn, I tried to post a picture in my previous comment to show you how to set the spring to avoid the tension you are describing on the servo, but it didn’t show. I will send it to you by mail.
Yeah we want pics! That\’s what I eat for breakfast. So Decathlon has InMoov tendons, that\’s good news.
I’ll post pictures when the arm is ready. At the moment, I’m looking for the best way to fix the tendons. I am trying to print the Funlab actuators to test.
I must say that the setting of the tendons is the most difficult part of the mounting arm.
The ideal should be a (in french) “Tendeur 2 oeils” for each tendon, but I did not find one…[Read more]

Hi Bob, so if you want to post a video from your youtube account, you just copy paste it into the comment box?
Hi Gael, Yes. When you click share on your You Tube Video, it gives you that .http://youtu.be/…#. Copy that and paste it in the comments box. When you post your comments the video is attached.
ehehe, No mics. Servos make too much noise to use mics directly on the robot. At least for now until someone finds a solution.
Seems like a known sound could be removed digitally. Something to play with.
hey, very interesting! Surprising how you allow the robot to do very unhuman movements. With ROS moveit you also can get the robot to know where he stands in a given space before he makes the movements?
The arm angle a computed through inverse kinamatics i just select the position of the gripper. The settings are out of the box as are the planners I have only had the arm working for a week now still lots to try and lots to learn. With ROS every link and joint is measured to the base link which is localized on the map. So if the object is at X,Y,Z…[Read more]
Getting almost human. Wait before printing the ears, I made a new design with embeded loud speakers.
are there microphones in the ears too? so we can whisper sweet nothings into it ;-P
😀 …. its a boy 😛
Nice colors. Wait before printing the ears. I have designed a new set which allows to embed loud speakers.
InMoov enjoys the coach.
whooo ooo, cool!
Would love to see a video of that!
I’m editing one now will upload it tonight
I really think this member activity stuff doesn\’t work well. But I can\’t seem to find a better way to make. I hate the videos that are cut in half. Seems also that it is difficult for you guys to post comments, because there is almost never comments on the posted pics and vids. Any suggestion about that?
I’m not really into site programming but when you go to activity the bar on the right is not needed any more. if this is removed you might have more room for the videos.
for the comments, Im looking almost every day to see what others are making. the comments are sometimes low but I think lots of people are watching.
I also found it a bit difficult to navigate the site. I just kept punching around until it functions as it should. I would also agree with dumping the update stream on the right side but leave the members activity button.
I have found that by using “copy and paste” into the text box is the easiest way to post You Tube videos. It is unfortunate that they are cut in half but by clicking on the name of who posted it, it takes you to the video. I too think that a lot of people look at the site but everyone leaves comments. I know I don’t comment on everything but I…[Read more]
Finally pooring some drinks for humans. Soon will be time to sit back and wait for the drink to be served.
This I know will happen. I am thinking over leg design every chance I get. Biotronic Exoskeletons give me some really clean designs. Luckily I already have a host of 12volt linear actuators laying about.
Oh I wish my would be on wheels too, why do I have to make legs!!
EHEHE! Very nice! Have you been able to also launch the robot after the simulation was done?
They are the same when, you are happy with the result then press run and the arm will move
Is their sometimes voices at night in the garage? I get this kind of spooky things too in my workshop.
That would be as spooky as the picture. One day Rob will startup my CNC & Printer and be making himself a companion. 😉
Printer seems to get no rest, I see. Even on Valentines day!!
Ahaha, you should maybe consider printing the eye mask in black!
Interesting color Combination. It will be nice to see the complete build!!
Great! This one really made me laugh! Thanks for sharing the scripts!

Ahaha, shooting Markus with the eyes!
Skin color plastic or is it the light? This time your prints worked well!
Actually it is brass colored from Protoparadigm. I do like the resemblance to human skin. And the second time around printing worked great. Moving ahead as quickly as I dare.
My values are restrained because the mecanism hits the side of the head. As you know you have a better versio of the mecanism and head then me. I use previous versions with little design problems…
Yeah! Super I google it for other members
PID values need tweaking.. And i made the video with your default limit (not best values for my reversed build )
Very good! May I suggest coloring in black, blue , green or brown the ring that goes in the eye globe? Wider the iris will be, the less strange he will look 🙂 It \’s good you decided to reprint the face in white.
Ya.. I will 🙂 i think black… 🙂 look at new 4pid tracking video i made with inmoov 🙂 it is short but spooky 🙂
We will enjoy seing your pictures during progress! Welcome
Very nice! Can the road map be more complex with different locations?
Yes using the action server i can set goals when the goal is reached the next action is preformed ie next location or get the cup, open the door. some of these i have already
Great, now lets see it work. I\’m glad you added the rotational wrist and finally placed correctly the hand to the wrist.
Great! A proud Markus! Could you send me a copy of the magazine? I would like to keep that in my archives.
yes! no problem. 🙂
to wot address ?
Thanks for posting! This is our first know Russian InMoov.

Ahaha, Thanks a lot. At first I thought it was going to be a video. Merry Christmas to you and your Family.
Very simple and good idea for to use only the head. Thanks for sharing.
whoooo oo, do you have the HS 805BB already?
Fantastic, a hundred kids! Think of it, the first 3D printed robot these kids have ever seen, and you were the one to show them. Congratulations.
Tadada! I can tell the printed is not having a moment to breath back. 🙂
Aaah, I had been wanting to do that for a long time! Because the cables sometimes get stucked and if they run in the rotation center it is more logic and simple. I have added your Thingy to the Derivatives collection in Download tab.
Great! another InMoov robot to be born. Did you put yourself on the builders map? Let us see your pics.
Gael Langevin posted an update 10 years, 11 months ago
very cool! Man the students are going to go wild! If you get a minute (not sure you will) please make a picture, I would love to see that.
Very good! I think, from what I can see, it was huge for a mini MakerFaire, It seems like there things to see everywhere. From what I have read on the net it was a great success.
Whoo oo, soon the head is going to be mounted!!
sensational! Very friendly, 🙂
Gael Langevin posted a new activity comment 11 years ago
Ahaha, I love that!
I hope you really enjoyed yourself during this event.
Wow! Great job! The glowing light on the chest is cool, and I like the fact you amplified it\’s voice for people to hear what he says. During my shows, I always have a headphone and nobody knows how InMoov talks. Have you been able to do voice commands also? I can see someone on the left corner with the InMoov T-shirt 🙂
Great. Pictures, pictures, pictures!
InMoov\’s first signature! Fantastic!
Very nice! Do you plan to print the other arm? When I run my InMoov with only one arm attached to the torso, I find it very unbalanced. The pressure applied on the whole structure is more heavy, it\’s logic. Have you been able to use voice commands with MyRobotLab?
Hi Balse, this is a recurrent question on the forum. 🙂 Unfortunatly I design everything with Blender and my files are a real mess made of exported STL\’s and re-imported STL\’s., I do not want to share them, also because they contain almost all of my iterations and what I\’m working on for the legs. Too many personal things in there. 🙂
Gael Langevin posted an update 11 years ago
Welcome Markus, since how long did you start your InMoov?
Hello! And thanks for welcoming me. I started my inmoov approximate 2 month ago
I received your motor, I need to write you an email with a few questions when I get a bit of time.
Very nice job!
I don\’t know with which material your are printing. But I personally don\’t use bolts and nuts, I just print the \”bolts and entretoise\” and push them in. I\’m using ABS.
Yes I remember, I made them after your suggestion.
Very nice! Glad to see derivatives. One little suggestion would be to keep the top knob part I made on the original gear file. It avoids loosing step when pressure is applied to the wrist.
We come to some very similar conclusions. The reason I designed the screwthreads for the bicep this way was for to keep speed, torque, and printability. Steppers are heavier also. During the 3D PrintShow Paris, I was approached by a firm that creates stepper motors of all kinds and they should get in contact through mail. I will see what they can…[Read more]
I guess you would need to redesign LowerarmsideV1.
Great! I had to twist my neck a bit to look at your picture. 🙂 Now we need to get it working.
cool, il faut que je cree un lien dans les downloads.
Cool Shirts, did you make two for you or do have a partner along?
Hi jP, here is a link to a derivative using a stepper motor, I haven\’t heard of that person since a while so I have no idea if it is any good. But it might help to start with. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:50054
You received the Kinect, that is cool!
You received the Kinect, cool!
yeee
This is good! I will add it in my next post. Thanks Anar.
Fantastic Jhack! Hope you have a great time.
A whole arm ready!! Great.
Oh I see you have mounted the the hand on the wrong side of the wrist. Nothing bad technicaly, it is only for the eyes, I then feel like the hand isn\’t correctly aligned with the forarm.
Nice work! Is the coqated steel nylon doing a good job, doesn\’t it strech? I ave never used that but it seems interesting.
Gael Langevin posted a new activity comment 11 years, 1 month ago
You are well advanced already, whats the controller you pla to use?
Cool, is it PLA or ABS?
Totally transparent, it must interesting, because we can see the servos working through the material.
Post a picture, we want to see!
These blue eyes are nice! And I like the idea that they can be printed.
Cool! yeah this way it is clear, we can read the name. I need to do the same for the next Makerfaire.
Very good! Very explicit. It is interesting to see in which order you add parts. I will add your video to the \”Assembly\” tab since it is ok with you.
Really great! 200mm is quite accurate. It must be surprising to see. I was thinking, if you would add the covers on the biceps of the arms, you will gain in strength and the arms won\’t wobble during arm movements.
Fantastic! Is he finding is own way through the house? From what I gathered on your blog it seems to be.
Cool, two InMoov and also the head printed by Alessandro. I really enjoyed these days!
These Eyes are great!
Nice and clean set up, Leonardo.
