I’ve added some new parts to my InMoov.
That’s so cool!
Awesome work,,, The Clean Prints and Cable Wraps really makes him a Fine Specimen
Congratulations! What a beautifull base you made!!
Bob? What did you use for the power! Is it a mother board that drives your robot or a notePad! Thanks in advance! 🙂 PS: Excuse my English!

Hi! I printed a 2 mm thick and used a hot airgun to shape it.
Good idea, I need to do the same thing for where the computer goes, as I’m not putting a computer on my InMoov at this time. Maybe some one out there can make a filler plate for this space.
Did you do the same thing for the covers you have on the back of the Biceps?
No I found those on thingiverse

Robyn Inmoov webkitspeech
Great video Markus! Always on the cutting edge! I recently tested the webkitrecognition during an event and got a bit frustrated with the delay for to get the responses from the server. When the wireless connection is poor, InMoov has to “think” for very long seconds, it can be up to 20 seconds which feels like an eternity on the front of the…[Read more]

The ball joint
I resigned the Top Stomach so now it can lean Forward and Backwards. The design is a ball joint with 3 servos. It still needs some work but the concept is good.
Mmmh I had written a comment a few hours ago, but I guess it just disappeared. Awesome work Bob!!!!!! This is really adding a cool feature!! When I was designing the stomach parts I wanted set in a 3d printed “rotule de cardan” (I don’t know how it’s called in English http://motopieces.fr/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/rotule-de-cardan-624×468.jpg) to…[Read more]
Thanks for your comments, Gael. Over here we call that type of joint a U-Joint. I considered that type of joint for this modification but the ball joint is much simpler. I left the pots in the servos and used my modified pistons that I made earlier for the Top Stomach. The reason I am experimenting with this is, that for walking I think the robot…[Read more]
very good idea use this articulation bob i think to use the same idea for ankle was the best
Thanks Bob for the name “U-joint”, I couldn’t grab it on internet. You are totally correct concerning good stomach movements for to be able to have human gait ressemblance.

A demo of the stomach rotation
Hi Bob
Very cool movements .
As you have done to make the system of wrist motion up and down ?
Ah cool! Finaly you can post videos again! I see you replaced one hand with the Flexi hand?
Nice video, Bob! I see the wrist also has a movement linkage. You might want to share your work with Juerg, as he is also working on something similar.
Yes, I hacked a flexihand and put the servos for the fingers in the palm of the hand and added a servo for the additional wrist movement. I have also just finished adding flexible joints to the original InMoov hand and it works pretty good and can hold objects fairly well. I posted a couple of videos on Youtube about the flexihand.
RIght, you take a new route with servos inside the hand – very nice! My bending wrist uses another servo in the forearm and a few modifications on the existing wrist and hand parts – and it integrates a position sensor to allow the hand to stay horizontal. I am waiting for some cabling stuff as I want to have the forearm pluggable to the elbow.…[Read more]
Looks great! The flexihand seems better controlled – is that due to a design improvement in the parts or just better tuning during installation? PS I think we should chip in to buy you some switchplate covers so you can program your bot to install them 🙂

Robyn Inmoov (skin) sensor moving the arms
Well Markus, this works very nice. I can see how effective this works, and the sensors seem to be working well. I guess you could also use it to create gestures, if both arms were not coupled, using “capture gesture” voice command.
Yes i have both sensors working now thanks to Greg and they move separately. and it is very easy to create gestures. there are so many possibilities for example interaction with people. my experience is that many people want to touch and feel with their hands and now Robyn will respond to that.
Robyn Inmoov arm sensitive driving
Nice work, Markus! I see lots of applications for these touch sensors. I have also experimented with them.
Nice works, Makus! I see lots of applications for these touch sensors, giving a robot the sense to “feel” is huge.
Amazing! Looks great, easy to imagine this in a variety of applications…
Super Great Markus!! Actually we could make just a tactile bracelet for easy driving control! That would be easier to make, because I remember you saying in a video, that it was a bit difficult to make the sensitive forarms sensors. And the videos does show the difficulties of the task. I don’t remenber, did you use i2C to save analog entries on…[Read more]
Thanks Gael ! first i tried to use arduino Micro but it didn’t work ok with the com ports. so i use teensy 3.2 and it works great. i have a sketch on the teensy that sends numbers to serial in MRL

hardware and software in my mecanum wheel project
i have made some changes after this video because i needed more power to the motors but the sketch is sill basically the same
Markus, this is so great, I really love those mecanum wheels! Are you using the Joystick service of MRL? Where did you get these cool little joystick? Can they work as remote control without cable?
hello Gael ! no i am not using mrl on the arduino i want to be able move around without the need of the computer so i am working on serial communication between MRL and the arduino sketch insead
yes i am planning to make it wireless
so i can drive around in (transport mode) with inmoov off and when i turn inmoov on MRL can control the wheels as well
That’s great plan! I use the remote control that Alessandro gave me during the Paris Makerfaire to ride InMoov around when I need to go someplace, but I would like to be able to use it also in MRL with voice control. At this moment if I use voice control to tell him to drive I cannot take over with remote control.
Working on it 🙂
Robyn Inmoov is practice driving .
Very cool, Markus! How do you have the controls arranged? For instance, how do you distinguish between “turn right” and “go sideways to the right”?
Woaaaahhh awesome!! Now its time to make space in the house to let InMoov ride around!!! Just incredible to think you are able to build this wheel system with a 3D printer, ahaha! I have added your Thingiverse files to the InMoov collection. This is SO inspiring!
Thanks Gael!
That looks great, Markus. I was wondering – how do you have your controls arranged to cause the 10 possible movments?

InMoov DJ !! After doing party, Robijn is now choosing his own MP3’s. Are you using Random the way it is used for talking?
Take a look at the script. http://myrobotlab.org/content/robyn-inmoov-playing-random-mp3-files#new
Robyn Inmoov starts listening.
Great, how does it “feel” you stand on a certain side? Is it because of the sound or is it with infrared sensors? Don’t the microphones get disturbed with the buzzing noise of the servos of the head?
it is the microphones! check out the script i am working on. http://myrobotlab.org/content/robyn-inmoov-starts-listening#comment-4780
Robyn Inmoov mini keyboard.
Hi Markus, is the keyboard connected in bluetooth to the PC? If yes, is it something you implemented into the script or is it implemented above MRL?
there is a receiver in a usb port on the computer at the back of Robyn. http://www.kjell.com/sortiment/dator-kringutrustning/datortillbehor/tangentbord/tradlosa-tangentbord/plexgear-mediatrack-point-p98788 and it works very good with MRL

Very good job Markus!! Scary when InMoov lean sideway, I felt it was going to fall, ahaha.
Totaly effective. Grog suggested to get the opening of the jaw bigger according to the level of sound using software, that would be good too.

Robyn Inmoov rewiring and easy to disassemble.
Very nice Markus! Using a wide screen is good, I have chosen a much smaller screen to be mounted on the Odroid U3 and it is a bit hard to read on it. Very interesting way of connecting the arms, I like the hdmi cables. What power supply do you use for the servos, Others might be interested about that. Thanks for this instructive video!!!
Very beautiful design. We would like the photos with comments. You come up with the usage HDMI cable very nice.
Super! are you using the Neo Pixel Ring I use or is it done with color leds? If you use the Neo Pixel Ring, is it hooked to an extra Arduino or is it implemented within the two InMoov Arduinos?
Woo ooo, great idea! now InMoov can be made for domotic purpose.

very nice extra features for the Rock Paper Scissors play game. It is interesting how it seems like he really can understand what you are playing. For someone who doesn’t know, it can be very tricky.
Robyn understands me!!! this is no fake!!!! He chose rock scissors paper by random and asks me what i have. Then he understand my voice command and use variables to count the score.
Oh yes I know, I didn’t mean it was a fake. 🙂 I also use the rock paper scissors on my script, and what you have added is really interesting because of the variables counted from your answers. Ha ha! fun to play around with.
InMoov’s first signature! Fantastic!
Very nice! Do you plan to print the other arm? When I run my InMoov with only one arm attached to the torso, I find it very unbalanced. The pressure applied on the whole structure is more heavy, it’s logic. Have you been able to use voice commands with MyRobotLab?
Yes i have just start printing the other arm..At the moment i am using a SSC-32 servo controller so i have not tried ardoino or my robbotlab. I am going to download and test it later.I have bin learning a little bit of pic processors and programming them . I have made simple circuit boards in other projects.
but i have never used ardoino before so i am excited to learn more.about it.
