This servo board and breakout mini boards are designed to be used with InMoov, but you can use them for any kind of robotic projects that involve servos and sensors.

If you want to control only the hand, the head or the whole robot, this is what you need!

Description

The Nervo board was developed by Marten de Groot and Leon van der Horst.

What is it?

It is an Arduino-compatible shield for Uno or Mega that allows you to connect all the servos of one side of InMoov robot. If you are building the complete robot, you actually will need two of these sets.
This board can also be used if you are only building the hand, or just the head. Each breakout board is dedicated with a part name.
Note: These boards are cut with my CNC for now, because we haven’t found a low cost solution for small series.

      No it doesn’t, as described on the product page. The leds and resistors are not very necessary. The Nervo board can fonction without anyway.

    I’m building a complete InMoov and using MyRobotLab, so the logical choice is to use the Nervo rather than develop a less effective, probably more expensive solution from scratch. If you want to do your own thing, that’s fine, but it helps a whole lot to understand how something was designed and is supposed to work before you blaze your own trail. The Nervo board is part of the design and it will truly simplify the wiring and operation of your bot. One Nervo board will handle the head, neck eyes and stomach plus one arm and hand including sensors. It looks like two Nervo boards will handle both arms and all current systems, probably including variants like the 3-axis head.
    Assembling the boards was a little monotonous, but not at all difficult. It took me maybe 1.5 hours. The hardest thing was probably splitting the right-angle break-away headers. Fortunately, there are a few extras. Read through the instructions on the web site, lay out the boards and dry-fit the parts and then read the instructions again.
    Go ahead and buy some (3mm) LEDs and resistors because they look pretty cool and tell you the power is on. If you have not done a lot of circuit board soldering, there are plenty of good guides out there on YouTube and elsewhere. If you don’t already have a soldering station and are someplace that uses 110V, just order a Stahl STSSVT for about $21. I use .015″ (.38 mm) silver solder (62/36/2 from Radio Shack). .025″ is common but thinner is better. And get some desoldering wick just to be safe.
    I’m about to order my second Nervo board and am really looking forward to getting everything Mooving!

      When the product is in back order, it can take up to a month before shipping when I wait for components. With the holidays I wasn’t able to have time to do any shipping, but I am trying to ship every once a week anyway. For info all components are in stock, so I’m currently able to keep shipping.

      It would take about 6 to 8 days according to the post. I use a tracking shipping which lets you follow your package.
      What is impossible for me to evaluate is the time the customs of your country will hold the package.
      We do shipping on friday and monday depending on my free time.

      I have sent the Nervo Board to Argentina 4 times before.
      We are using normal post with tracking service.
      Unfortunately the tracking is not accurate once the shipping is in your country, which makes it difficult if it gets lost.

      If you plan to run only the head with neck, you will need only 1 Nervo Board kit.(leftside)
      Note that the rollNeck servo (tilting head sideways) is by default attached to the second Nervo Board kit (rightside)
      But you can reconfigure the pin servo setting to use only one kit.

      Although the Nervo Boards are currently on backorder, you can place an order anyway.
      We should receive the goods next week and then proceed the shippings.
      The Nervo board can be soldered without difficulty, but make sure to have a sharp point solder with high temperature.
      I currently use this model and it works very good for a very reasonable price.

      En raison du confinement, et des problèmes lié au COVID19, j’ai suspendu la vente des Nervo Board car les livraisons étaient devenues désastreuses.

      The reason is because our post offices are going to be submerged the first week with packages and mails that have been standing/waiting during the confinement. I don’t like the idea to have some lost packages because the post cannot overcome the amount of work.
      I believe it will be more secured a week after, although traffic will not return to normal before a long, long time.

    Salut Gael, même question, j’ai imprimé toutes les pièces de la tête, ça s’emboîte bien (utilisation du calibrator pour régler ma machine, cf un post sur l’expansion horizontale qui m’a bien servi). j’ai imprimé un support pour la tête donc ça serait sympa de pouvoir la faire fonctionner seule, en attendant d’imprimer et construire le reste

      I suggest you start small and build the FingerStarter, this will help you get a clear overview of the very basics. It allows you to run and test Myrobotlab, our software to give vocals orders to the finger. If you order a NervoBoard, it takes an average of two weeks to be delivered, but currently (05/02/2022) we have a stock issue, so it might take longer.
