A small Arduino Nano controls the 16-element Neo-Pixel Ring.
When the PIR sensor detects a human, the Neo-Pixel heart beat increases pace and the color changes.

This is looking very nice. Even better that you have the neopixel reacting to the PIR data. Cool stuff.

I’ve been looking for one too. The best one I’ve found on Thingiverse doesn’t support the 2 servos that control the heads side to side movement and does not allow enough space for the piston/servo that controls the heads up and down movement. I think it was designed for the older version. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4056848 If anyone knows…[Read more]

I’m re-building the upper torso and shoulders.
My old printer was not well calibrated and I had a lot of dimensional inaccuracies.
With my newer printer, it’s now accurate, and since the stand for Fred’s new head is not that good, I’m using the upper torso as a stand 🙂

You know, you could put a Thermal image sensor in that spot.
So if you have the cameras in the eyes or a kinect installed, Just another option to have 🙂
      I like it.

I moved the camera because I built a small InMoov.
There is no place to put the camera in the eyes or to put a kinet. But your idea is interesting.
        Thank you

I have in the past to a point.
              I have a non-standard build.
I used PCA9685 servo drivers in the head, arms and body and these are supported in the Inmoov service but they are in MRL.
So I have had them running, just not well 🙂
I am currently rebuilding the head for my Inmoov again with a Raspberry Pi 3, but also have an AI HAT to add to it for…[Read more]

Do we need support when printing BackDoorLeft and BackDoorRight? The build yours guide indicates we do not need support. Cura won\’t seem to slice them if I turn support off which is a bit odd. But with support Cura estimates 10hours and 48minutes. Since I updated Cura the printing times have increased a lot.

Maria’s back door right and left were printed without support. Each one printed in 7.5 hours with 0.15 mm layer height. They look good in white; now I wonder if they should be black?

Steve Rayner replied 5 years, 6 months ago

I went with some custom support in the end. It took just over 8 hours for each half. I’m printing everything in white. But yes I think it might look better if some of the parts were black, just to break things up a bit. Nice thing about this project is you can always just redo and change things.

M5-0.8 nuts were installed before the upper and lower parts of the Tibia were glued together. Since these parts are PETG, I glued the sections together with 5-minute clear epoxy.

The “FootBoltHolder.stl” has a 10 mm hole for supporting InMoov with a one-meter long threaded rod.
The 10 mm diameter threaded rod is held in place with M10 washers and nuts. I used a M10-1.5 coarse threaded rod.

Lockdown period gave me some time to add the stomach and develop the interface. Our “Ultron” has a Raspberry Pi V4 with NodeRed as master, an Arduino Uno plus two PCA9685 servo shields. Communication between Pi and Arduino is established via Serial over USB and works fine. Still a lot to do…
