Interesting way of hooking up the tendons to the servo horns. Is it to make it easier for adjusting?
In this experiment, I used the Jhack’s approach for implementing feelings. However, the using of springs and 90 degrees servos reduced range of fingers motion. Then I used the blocks to increase the stroke finger tendons.

Ever wondered what happens if you take all inMoov hand parts and mixed them together? The downside to using the uPrint is the bath you have to put the pieces in to clean off the support material. We were not very…patient.

The squarry pot support is good! Thanks for sharing it on Thingiverse. There is an explanation for the difficulty to assemble the shoulder with my tuto. I made the tuto a long time after having the shoulder built, and I had a bit forgotten the various steps I had gone through the real assembly.

Maybe a possible spring for tendons ?
Gael, do you think that one of those springs is usable? I am thinking to this one mainly: d = 0.70 L0 = 11.10 Ln = 13.46 Fn = 30.70 F0 = 4.50
Actually the type you selected should be fine, but I have no idea how much tension would be required. I suggest getting a cheap box of various springs on ebay and run some test, then we will know what is the best. http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Spring-Assortment-Set-200pc-AST23-/121255490804?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1c3b63f4f4
okay I just ordered a box, but if you want a quick build, don’t wait for my test. 🙂
hehe. Will try to order some springs too (or find them in Paris).
I have the exact same box at home. Its very useful to have.
and it’s cheap. most springs are expensive if you buy just 20.

To Fred and others: https://groups.google.com/group/inmoov/attach/151d3d256a4108f0/spring%20tensioner1.jpg?part=4&authuser=0 This is how I see a spring added to the retraction tendon. In this set up we avoid forcing on the servo either way of rotation and it also avoid losing tension in the tendons.
Have you already tried this ? If so, what kind of spring do you use, and where to buy it ? 🙂 (ok, I’m lazy 😉 )
No I haven’t tried yet, I want to order a box of various springs on ebay.

Nice, What kind of wire did you use?
It is not the derivative : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:233923 that you used for the pulleys?
No. It’s your pulleys, with a modification inspired by the derivative 233923 : no need print again pulleys, just drill and use small wood screws. I used little nuts instead of washers (I did not have washers so small).
This combination allows you to adjust the tension of the tendons much more easily than with knots 🙂
Very nice. I like that.

Just started building InMoov. I’ve printed the right forearm and hand. I’m now playing (not really, it’s not so easy) with tendons, then I’ll use LeapMotion (fully configured). Next, will print right arm and shoulder, then the left parts.

Yeah we want pics! That’s what I eat for breakfast. So Decathlon has InMoov tendons, that’s good news.
I’ll post pictures when the arm is ready. At the moment, I’m looking for the best way to fix the tendons. I am trying to print the Funlab actuators to test.
I must say that the setting of the tendons is the most difficult part of the mounting arm.
The ideal should be a (in french) « Tendeur 2 oeils » for each tendon, but I did not find one…En afficher davantage
The spring called « ressort tension » is more interesting I think, as I already suggested in various posts to use a spring on the retract tendon to keep both tendons always with a correct tensionning.Images intégrées 1
I try to use a spring on the retract tendon retraction in a few days because the tension on the servo is too strong and it suffers from this tension.
What kind of spring do you use or recommend ?
Damn, I tried to post a picture in my previous comment to show you how to set the spring to avoid the tension you are describing on the servo, but it didn’t show. I will send it to you by mail.
Hello,
I need some help 🙂
I’ve (finally !) finished my arm, and I’m trying to move it with Leapmotion. The wrist move correctly, but none of the fingers moves 🙁

Leapmotion is running 🙂
Hey That’s great news!!!
Hello Fred, Can I ask you if you made LeapMotion works with InMOOV arm on Windows PC, Linux PC or on a MAC ? (I didn’t manage to make it works on my Windows PC, so, I wonder if you did it ). Thanks in advance for your reply. Didier

Getting almost human. Wait before printing the ears, I made a new design with embeded loud speakers.
are there microphones in the ears too? so we can whisper sweet nothings into it ;-P

ehehe, No mics. Servos make too much noise to use mics directly on the robot. At least for now until someone finds a solution.
Seems like a known sound could be removed digitally. Something to play with.

Robbie’s arm moving with ROS moveit
hey, very interesting! Surprising how you allow the robot to do very unhuman movements. With ROS moveit you also can get the robot to know where he stands in a given space before he makes the movements?
The arm angle a computed through inverse kinamatics i just select the position of the gripper. The settings are out of the box as are the planners I have only had the arm working for a week now still lots to try and lots to learn. With ROS every link and joint is measured to the base link which is localized on the map. So if the object is at X,Y,Z…En afficher davantage

I really think this member activity stuff doesn’t work well. But I can’t seem to find a better way to make. I hate the videos that are cut in half. Seems also that it is difficult for you guys to post comments, because there is almost never comments on the posted pics and vids. Any suggestion about that?
I’m not really into site programming but when you go to activity the bar on the right is not needed any more. if this is removed you might have more room for the videos.
for the comments, Im looking almost every day to see what others are making. the comments are sometimes low but I think lots of people are watching.
I also found it a bit difficult to navigate the site. I just kept punching around until it functions as it should. I would also agree with dumping the update stream on the right side but leave the members activity button.
I have found that by using « copy and paste » into the text box is the easiest way to post You Tube videos. It is unfortunate that they are cut in half but by clicking on the name of who posted it, it takes you to the video. I too think that a lot of people look at the site but everyone leaves comments.
