Covie is brilliant! And you and your team has done brilliantly to build it so quickly. Good luck on the next stage, and as you say it will never be finished… as it is a journey of discovery and co-working and not a destination.
Thanks Michael! Wonderful hearing from fellow InMoov enthusiasts….our Makerbot replicator has been printing non stop about 15 hours a day six days a week for the past five months….InMoov is the gift that keeps on giving, to students and teachers alike.
Fantastic! First InMoov I see on a skateboard!
Thank you Gael. Boy, are we having fun …. Thank you again for your inspiring and innovative InMoov!

Dear InMoov world,
A quick update from a chilly Jeeves InMoov, the last snows are melting at my workshop in France.
Like many, my InMoov journey has been a bit stop start, but now both printers are printing as fast as they can so that I can say “Hello world” as soon as possible.
Wherever you are in the world have a good day, a great weekend and…En afficher davantage
Wow Michael – I love your D6 setup! Looking forward to seeing what you create. Good luck with the build!
Beautiful workshop, by the way! 😀
Many thanks Richard, much appreciated, much printing to go.

Hi Richard, I like your InMoov sticker/card with logo + did you print all your InMoov on your Wanhao D3?
Hi Michael, yep, I have a couple of Wanhao D3’s and it’s all printed by them. They’re different generations (I forget which version numbers they are, one is an early variant, before they introduced the power supply with the angled screen), They have all the usual community modifications, like the AZZA braces etc. The printer on the right of the…En afficher davantage

Morning builders ! If I just build for the upper part (Head + Neck), I wonder how many Arduino Mega does it required?
Hello, yes one mega with one NervoBoard will do the job. It will be called LeftSide Arduino. You will need to trick the pins for the RollNeck though, because normally it is attached to the right side Arduino. You can select a different pin in the config files of head. And also select the left board to be the master for…En afficher davantage

WOW, I just saw that we are 6,001 Members worldwide, another level has been reached. what great news that the community keeps on growing!
agreed, can’t wait to see some inmoov meetups, chatting to each other
🙂 Well, there was a long list of members waiting for approval. Checking them all today made the number of members increase in a short delay. New members to be approved must have a InMoov picture for their profile picture. (can be anything as long as it’s an InMoov part). It will save me time when approving members. Thanks and welcome to all new members!!

I made some skin for my Inmoov
how did you do it? Is it silicone?
Yes, its silicone gel 00
Very interesting! You did a great job, it is so real! I was wondering if I’m able to do that! You must post the receipe! How did you do for the eye,S lids?
Well done, very impressive, which eyes and eye lids did you use? plus lots of other questions, such as do you notice any noise reduction from the servos?
I used basic silicone 00 and added some skin tone. The eyes are https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2548952 but I modified a little bit. There is no reduction in sound and I added a spring at the back to counter the weight of the silicone
Thanks a lot! Sure I will try this one day! Congrats!
Hi Peter, Many thanks, very much appreciated.
That is brilliant. Creepy as hell, but brilliant!
It would be really interesting to know the process you used to create the mould for the silicone. Did you use a sculpt, or did you use a 3D file as the basis?
I simply made a plaster mould of the 3d printed face and copied it with about 5mm of silicone
Great idea, it’s turned out so well. Do you use a vac chamber?
Very good job! Could you post a picture or video of the face and eyes without the skin? And the interior of the skin for the attachments? It’s very interesting!
Very, very nice effect! The silicone seems extremely soft, did you add a lot of silicone oil? Is the skin mounted with magnets?
Has anyone integrated “Microsoft LifeCam Studio V2” web cam into the eyes?
Yes, it requires some mods, but it works well. Microphone is not very responsive inside the head, the the video is good.
Hi Doc Johnson, that is great news, many thanks. I have found a couple of sites where they show you how to strip down the camera to remove the case etc. do you have any guidance on the mods that would be required? or even (pushing my luck) some pictures?
You have great timing; I was just getting ready to install my EZB Camera in the other eye, so I had the assy apart. I took some photos; keep in mind, I just did this as a quick and easy setup; if you think about it, you can do a much cleaner job than I did. Photos are in my album area
Hi Doc Johnson, very much appreciated, I know what to do now. Many thanks
Always glad to assist. Have a great Day!

New video with eyes
Well done looks great!
Expressions!
I wonder is this implementation suitable by using the Microsoft HD-3000 Live Cam?
you can open it and look at the board on which the camera is soldered. if HD-3000 Live Cam looks like VX 2000 web cam then the board is too big to enter into any eye.

Italian InMoov?
Yes i am italian😆 and my InMoov is 0.57% scale.
Cool, 0.57% ? What servo did you set instead? Do you use the Italian configuration for your InMoov in MyRobotLab?

Morning builders ! I wonder how many camera/s needed for the eye mechanism ? Is 1 more than enough?
Hello, Yes one is enough.

Hi Gael. Your project is incredible. I started by the software. Install and run the program and works very well the answers and deep learning of the program AB. The problem is when you step into Spanish. There is no longer works well. Forget your name and my name. Gives you bad time and is not going to sleep. Nor searching the internet. What can i do?
Hello, The Spanish version is not very developed because there isn’t much help from the community. We would need to get help to improve the AIML files.
Hello Gael, Thank you for your prompt response. I would love to participate and improve the code. I have no experience in programming of AIML but i have some expirience in Python and Java. I would be grateful for any guide that I can you give to collaborate in the improvement of the version of the bot in Spanish. I’ll be bothering you when I…En afficher davantage

Hi Gael Langevin,
I am building InMoov for 4 months with complete hardware and now working on software. I try many many time to locate my InMoov Project (Thailand) in your Google Location Map but no successfully yet. Could you help me how to do? Thanks.
Som 🙂
Hello, The map was setup a while back and the person that set it up needs to go in and make it more public again so that people that add their locations. I wasn’t able to add mine either.
Thank you for your comment. How can we let him know?
Gael is aware of the situation, not sure what his plans are with it though.

So is there any estimate on how many complete/incomplete inmoovs there are in the world? seems like there are about 20 or so completed with videos on them and at least a few hundred being worked on that I can find documentation on so there are probably about 3-5K worldwide I am estimating? I am wondering how many nervos have been purchased.
Hello, Way, WAY above those numbers! The current estimation 16/03/19 is above a thousand built partly complete. We have no idea how many complete robot there is. To give you an exemple, I was recently visiting a school, where they have 3 complete (with legs) InMoov. They never posted pictures or videos of their robots… The 1000 clones is based…En afficher davantage
Well I’d say your number is likely higher.. due to the fact that the InMoov community has over 6,000 users now. IF you figure only HALF of those people built there InMoovs in one form or another.. and than add the fact as you said a school had 3 of them.. and I’m going to be building 2 of them .. one male one female. So he’ll have a companion LOL…En afficher davantage

I was able to calibrate my printer to get most of the parts to push fit. However still struggling with getting some neck pistons and shafts that work together right off the print-bed. I have an anet a6 and found that I got best results using slic3r pe and using .16 layer. I also used 30% infill. First piston I did, I had .24 and it was a pain, when I went to .16 all others are smooth as.
great thanks, think I will take it a lil lower and try a .1 layer height and see how that goes.

The right angle pins have finally arrived 🙂
I broke my printer so had to make a new part with the help of my Dad.
ask your dad to make all the parts of InMoov with some serious material!
More Eyes.
More Eyes. I think I need to lose the blue LED.
More Eyes and HD camera mount. I coloured the eyes with a permanent marker. Will repaint when I can get some paint.
Yes the eye holders are upside down!!
More Eyes
Looks Great, I am pretty much same spot as your are in the build. what did you use to hold down the cameraboard? the holes are tiny, I was thinking about some silicone to hold them in place but maybe the middle eye part will hold it down tight enough.
I used a little hot glue to hold it in place on the corners.
Starting the eyes 🙂
More head and neck. Not happy with the skull cover. They have warped – need a reprint
