Next week I will go further with the servo pully’s including the springs.

      Hello Anthony,

I hope this will give the option to monitor each finger.
As you can see, the value isn’t straight (it’s now a pulsed signal) because of the 50HZ servo position update/feedback timing.
I think we need something like a RC (Resistor/Capacitor) network, to filter the 50HZ to a constant…En afficher davantage

    Hi mats
Currently on vacation in Japan (they have some nice robots here too but InMoov is not popular here).
I can’t draw you a picture with my mobile but look at this – the servo has to travel 17 plus 27 mm for complete opening and closing. Depending on the servo you have installed (my mg995 can do about 210 degrees) this will be…En afficher davantage

Hi Juerg. I appreciate that you want to help. But from your answer, it is obvious that you don’t understand the basic problem. It has nothing to do with centering the servo. The servo needs to pull 27mm on one side to close the finger, while releasing 17mm on the opposite side. That is a difference of 10mm. Not a sum of 27 and 17. To open it…En afficher davantage

        Hi Mats
I think I got your point. When doing my first pulleys I had problems that they interfered with the cover, adding a second track would require lower built servos or a modified servo-bed? And the string-guiders will need to be adjusted?

A litte update to expain the reason that I redesigned the servo pulleys. I use the fingerstarter to explain. In the first picture the hand is open and both lines are stretched. On the second picture the hand is closed, but the lines are not stretched any more. To close the finger the servo pulls about 27mm and releases 27mm on the other end. But…En afficher davantage

        hi mats
Maybe I see things the wrong way but I do not understand why you have to modify the pully. Set your servo to the middle position than add the pully with a 10 mm offset towards the closing side. In MRL define a mapping that covers the 44 mm range for the full movement with your servo?

more room in the head due to smaller servos, smoother eye movement, smoother mouth movement, more room to put speakers and microphones, less parts in the neck due to no gears, overall just a lot more room to add other items

      • Illustration du profil de Mats Önnerby
Mats Önnerby replied il y a 10 ans et 4 mois

To close one finger you need to pull 27mm but to open it again only 17mm, The 10mm in difference will result in that the lines easily fall out of the tracks, The servos will also have a deadband of 10mm before they start to pull, With this construction the lines will be stretched all the time, so the fingers will keep their position better.

    • Illustration du profil de Revwarguy
Revwarguy replied il y a 10 ans et 4 mois

The reason I am asking is if you think the springs that were introduced to keep the strings tight would still be needed ?

      • Illustration du profil de Mats Önnerby
Mats Önnerby replied il y a 10 ans et 4 mois

Good question. I don’t think that springs are necessary, but if you turn the wrist, the lines will be tightened. So you have to compensate for that by relaxing the tension on the lines a little,

          Hi Mats
Can’t really see why you want to modify the pully. Put your servo to middle position and add the pully with an offset to the closing position that will account for the different distances for opening and closing. The use the mapping feature of mrl to adjust the overall distance for your servo in use?

Hi Richard! You have to buy 2 Nervo Boards, one or the right side and one for the left side. You would have free outputs in one of the Nervo Boards (because the InMoov for example only have one head) so you can use them in the future to add new moving parts to the InMoov.
You don’t have to adapt the Nervo Boards, are the same.

      Hi Marten,

      Thanks for you welcome.
Perhaps I will try to get in contact with the makers from the Oxboard, but for now we continue to finish our idea. We will keep you informed.

Here some pictures from the new ServoBed:
I’ve replaced two servo’s more to centre, to get some more hight.
I’m almost finished with the last RotaWrist parts.
When these are ready, I need to check the RobCableFront part.
I need to (re)move some holes in this part.

Now I’m printing a new ServoBed and tomorrow I will start with all RotaWrist parts.
When that’s ready, the complete ForArm and Hand are ready for use 🙂

So, during some spare time this day’s, I’ve printed a complete Right hand.
All in PLA and everything fits well 🙂
My next step is to start with the Right underarm parts, so I can install all servo’s and connect these to all the Fingers.

Here some pictures from the complete Right hand:

        Haha, I can’t wait…
I’m printing the last day’s at Day and Night… 🙂
I hope the forearm is ready in about two day’s.

Next day’s I will check all the lengths which each finger needs to lift them completely with the new servo pulley.
So I can start re-designing the pulley for each finger.

Here a video again, with the new servo pulley which is specially designed for a Finger movement.
It’s designed for servo’s which can turn a full 180 degrees.
This Pulley gives a better torque and there’s less change to move to much to destroy the servo or finger.
There are two option about the spring (in this video I’m using a elastic cord…En afficher davantage

      Nice!
So the white is the elastic cord and it runs all the way to the end of the finger, if I juge the white spot at finger tip.
What kind of elastic cord? Don’t you think it will stretch more and more over time?
I also can see the asymetric effect on the black braided line.

Hi Gael and thanks for your comment and time 🙂

The elastic cord is a basic peace which you normally will use for clothes.
It’s now just to do the job of the spring.
I’ve ordered some springs and have to wait they will be here.

I hope the asymmetric effect is in a positive way 🙂
