Quarantine has given me time to work on the graphical UI for InMoov in the new version of MyRobotLab (non released NIXIE). There is still many bugs because the webgui is a BIG work in progress, but you can try it out and see many new features. Thanks to Astro for all the help and making a tutorial to get me to understand how to work with […] View

      very nice extra features for the Rock Paper Scissors play game. It is interesting how it seems like he really can understand what you are playing. For someone who doesn’t know, it can be very tricky.

        Robyn understands me!!!
        this is no fake!!!!
        He chose rock scissors paper by random and asks me what i have.
        Then he understand my voice command and use variables to count the score.

          Gael Langevin replied 11 years, 1 month ago

          Oh yes I know, I didn’t mean it was a fake. 🙂
          I also use the rock paper scissors on my script, and what you have added is really interesting because of the variables counted from your answers. I have modified a bit the movements of that gesture before going to New York, because people had a hard time understanding how to process for the counting…[Read more]

      Ehehe, cool pir detection and tracking, I’m wondering how you set your pir script to auto go on face tracking, I can’t even make him say “I was sleeping”.
      Your video makes me laugh because when I wrote the script for “nice! You’re damn right”, I thought it was going to be funny when other robots would say it. And now it happens.

        i’ve started the face tracking

        ear.addCommand(“search humans”, “python”, “trackHumans”)

        def trackHumans():
        i01.headTracking.faceDetect()
        i01.eyesTracking.faceDetect()

        before i gave the command

        ear.addCommand(“power down”, i01.getName(), “powerDown”)

        so when the pir starts robyn the face tracking is already on.

      Very nice! Do you plan to print the other arm? When I run my InMoov with only one arm attached to the torso, I find it very unbalanced. The pressure applied on the whole structure is more heavy, it’s logic. Have you been able to use voice commands with MyRobotLab?

      Yes i have just start printing the other arm..At the moment i am using a SSC-32 servo controller so i have not tried ardoino or my robbotlab. I am going to download and test it later.I have bin learning a little bit of pic processors and programming them . I have made simple circuit boards in other projects.

      but i have never used ardoino before so i am excited to learn more.about it.

    I\’m wondering if there is a way to get the original Blender Files? Or are those proprietary???

      Hi Balse, this is a recurrent question on the forum. 🙂 Unfortunatly I design everything with Blender and my files are a real mess made of exported STL’s and re-imported STL’s., I do not want to share them, also because they contain almost all of my iterations and what I’m working on for the legs. Too many personal things in there. 🙂

      Thank you very much for your answer. And before I say anything else, this is by far the most exiting 3D Printing Project I ever saw!!! Thank you very much for your effort, and your willingness to share your work!!! As for the original Files, I thought something like this. Otherwise, I’m shure I would have found them somewhere here…

    I have a quick question.
    On the WristlargeV3 Part there are slots in this part directly behind where the two heavy bolts for fingers and thumbs end.
    I guess those are for nuts who receive the both heavy M8 Bolts.
    Is that correct??? If so. What kind of Nuts have you guys in there??? I can’t get mine (std m8 nut) to fit. Even after extensive…[Read more]

      I don’t know with which material your are printing. But I personally don’t use bolts and nuts, I just print the “bolts and entretoise” and push them in. I’m using ABS.

      I’m printing with a Replicator 2 with PLA. I printed and used the bolts and entretoise for a while. But I personally really really like the look of heavy metal bolts within the intricate white plastic construction 😉

    Hi
    Very exiting stuff you have going one here 😉
    Great Project!!! I can’t wait to build this awesome Machine!!!
    As a little contribution I added the Part “inMoov Wrist Gear Standard Servo Mount” to Thingiverse. Hope anyone can use it…

      Very nice! Glad to see derivatives. One little suggestion would be to keep the top knob part I made on the original gear file. It avoids loosing step when pressure is applied to the wrist.

      You are absolutely right with your suggestion. V2 is available at Thingiverse.

    Ok to give another update on the Stepper motor derivative.
    The thing is when a steppermotor moves slow it has more torque than the servo.
    I lifted 2.5 kilo at slow speed.
    BUT when you speed up a stepper motor the torque goes down.
    and that is why the guy of this derivative is not responding 🙂

    When i try to match the speed of the servo i can…[Read more]

      We come to some very similar conclusions. The reason I designed the screwthreads for the bicep this way was for to keep speed,torque, and printability. Steppers are heavier also. During the 3D PrintShow Paris, I was approached by a firm that creates stepper motors of all kinds and they should get in contact through mail. I will see what they can…[Read more]

    Hai all.

    I am making the robot for the entrance of the company where i work.
    Maybe you’ve heard about a derivative on the bicep to use a stepper motor.
    Well it’s not mine but i do believe in the idea to use a stepper motor.
    With this i think we can improve the strength of the arm.

    For some time I have played with these stepper motors. (Machine…[Read more]

      Hi jP, here is a link to a derivative using a stepper motor, I haven’t heard of that person since a while so I have no idea if it is any good. But it might help to start with. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:50054

      yes thanks man, thats the derivative i was talking about. the derivative didn’t work because the stepper motor is wider than the 2 LowerarmsideV1 parts. so you could just move the arm a few centimeters.

    • Profile picture of Gael Langevin
      Gael Langevin replied 12 years ago

      I guess you would need to redesign LowerarmsideV1.

    OK, here’s those pictures of my Inmoov arm. A month ago I didn’t know anything about an Arduino and not much about servos, thanks to Gael and others for there help. The arm is running off an Arduino sketch I modified from one Gael posted. When I can figure out how to post a Quick Time Movie (any help appreciated) I…[Read more]

    I screwed the servo bed in place rather than gluing it and I added a couple of tabs to hold the forearm cover on.

      Nice work! Is the coqated steel nylon doing a good job, doesn’t it strech? I ave never used that but it seems interesting.

      Oh I see you have mounted the the hand on the wrong side of the wrist. Nothing bad technicaly, it is only for the eyes, I then feel like the hand isn’t correctly aligned with the forarm.

    Here’s a few pictures of my Inmoov Project so far. I have the right arm and Bicep built and operating. I used 20 Lb nylon coated steel leader line to operate the fingers. I found that feeding the line in from the finger tips worked good, I also connected the 2 lines at the tips of the fingers.
