Hello World, Today is a good day 100% of the head printed and overall 30% of “Jeeves” InMoov is printed. Dry assembly and insertion of Microsoft LifeCam Studio V2 in right eye. Next week starts the challenge of soldering the NervoBoards and assembly while continuing printing the rest of the body. Have a great weekend everyone!
Hey great progress Michael! That little stand is handy for working on the head. 🙂 If you have any questions regarding the Nervo Board, just ask…

Good morning Gael, I read your article Deep Learning For Java The uncanny Mr. Turing and his deep learning of LSTM neural networks and I find it extremely interesting, we have an Artificial Intelligence Workshop, I must tell you that we are amateurs and self-taught, we made a series of pregrams for Aristotle (our version of immov) read articles…[Read more]
Hello, This sounds very promising! I bet with ROS you should be able to benefit of already made database for neural network processing. If you want to discuss more about that, I suggest you head over to the developpers of MyRobotLab, I am sure you will have great help and clues to find together.

Hello! Is that right? There is not more than 3 mm on both side…
Hello, the version of batteryHolder you have is not the latest. The latest versin has a gap to give more space. See in the gallery: http://inmoov.fr/wp-content/uploads/stl/Back/BatteryHolderLeftV5.stl http://inmoov.fr/wp-content/uploads/stl/Back/BatteryHolderRightV5.stl You will need to reprint or to cut off some material from the battery holders.
Ah, ok! Thank you! PS: This robot is realy amazing!

what print 3d you use?

Enseñando a saludar a Aristóteles
is it the “shake hand” gesture or did you make something different?
I made my own program in Python for control all servos, I can do any movement and save it, then call any with one word
for example i say “Ari mueve brazo derecho 70 grados” “Ari gira hombroGira derecho 30 grados” “Ari cierra menique derecho 60 grados” etc.. then save “saluda”, then i say “Ari saluda” and he do all movements saved in file “saluda”
Is a trainning, one word with a set of movement
interesting! it reminds me the first version I was using of MyRobotLab, all via python. The training you do is also possible with MRL via the chatbot, somebody in Brazil was doing something similar which might interest you.

Finally a small step forward. Too bad it doesn’t fit together, guess I need to calibrate it again. Do I need to polish it using sand paper or anything after the printing?
For the rectangular hole I sanded a tiny bit on the bits that fit in. For the rest I only took off bits that should not be there, it was a (very) tight fit.
Still trying on different calibration, and it still doesn’t fit. I’m using PLA and the calibrator like always exceeding less than 1mm? Not really sure about that. Is the wall thickness that affect the printing exceeding the original scale?
Hi Chuah Wei Jie, I am only printing in ABS-X, sorry my 3D printing knowledge and experience is insufficient to be able to help. Maybe someone else with more experience can help.
My first parts were printed at .24 and didn’t fit so well. I then printed at .15 and they all fit together nicely. Also looked a lot better as finished product.
Mark is right, the lower the layer height the better. I was able to fit stuff together with .3 layers until I got to the worm gears and piston shafts. needed to go all the way to .12 to get those to operate smoothly. always had my infill on 15% for most parts, the “load bearing” parts or parts I thought would be stressed I went up to 30% infill.…[Read more]
Some things I found that help; as noted the higher quality layer height the better the fit, try your finest settings (say .1) and see where you are, then increase until they don’t fit. Use PLA+ if your going to use PLA. Amazons is cheap and works great. (Premium PLA) Print just the way the file is loaded, do not re-arrange the parts. Keep trying,…[Read more]

Morning builders ! The printing process is finally get to start. I\’m using Anet A8 3D Printing. I wonder is there any suggested Start and End G-Code for such machine for a better result of printing? I\’m using Cura.
Great news! good luck Chuah Wei Jie! it is a great journey you are embarking upon. Unfortunately I do not know enough on Anet A8 to help you. But Cura works well for me.
Hi Michael ! I believe it will be. Actually I’m using Cura for the printing too. the thing that I wonder is that I’m not sure the setting of the Basic and Advanced column will provide a good printing result or not. I had uploaded my setting interface in my album. What do you think?
Hi Chuah Wei Jie, I have loaded the setting I am using in CURA for my ABS-X, different but they more or less work for me. With each printer and each print material they will be different. big difference I chose to print in 0.1 Have a good day
sorry Chuah Wei Jie, I meant to say in my album.
Thanks Michael ! I’ll try for both configuration during the printing process.

Hi Michael, yep, I have a couple of Wanhao D3’s and it’s all printed by them. I made some skin for my Inmoov
how did you do it? Is it silicone?
Yes, its silicone gel 00
Very interesting! You did a great job, it is so real! I was wondering if I’m able to do that! You must post the receipe! How did you do for the eye,S lids?
Well done, very impressive, which eyes and eye lids did you use? plus lots of other questions, such as do you notice any noise reduction from the servos?
I used basic silicone 00 and added some skin tone. The eyes are https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2548952 but I modified a little bit. There is no reduction in sound and I added a spring at the back to counter the weight of the silicone
Thanks a lot! Sure I will try this one day! Congrats!
Hi Peter, Many thanks, very much appreciated.
That is brilliant. Creepy as hell, but brilliant!
It would be really interesting to know the process you used to create the mould for the silicone. Did you use a sculpt, or did you use a 3D file as the basis?
I simply made a plaster mould of the 3d printed face and copied it with about 5mm of silicone
Great idea, it’s turned out so well. Do you use a vac chamber?
Very good job! Could you post a picture or video of the face and eyes without the skin? And the interior of the skin for the attachments? It’s very interesting!
Very, very nice effect! The silicone seems extremely soft, did you add a lot of silicone oil? Is the skin mounted with magnets?
Has anyone integrated “Microsoft LifeCam Studio V2” web cam into the eyes?
Yes, it requires some mods, but it works well. Microphone is not very responsive inside the head, the the video is good.
Hi Doc Johnson, that is great news, many thanks. I have found a couple of sites where they show you how to strip down the camera to remove the case etc. do you have any guidance on the mods that would be required? or even (pushing my luck) some pictures?
You have great timing; I was just getting ready to install my EZB Camera in the other eye, so I had the assy apart. I took some photos; keep in mind, I just did this as a quick and easy setup; if you think about it, you can do a much cleaner job than I did. Photos are in my album area
Hi Doc Johnson, very much appreciated, I know what to do now. Many thanks
Always glad to assist. Have a great Day!

Expressions!
I wonder is this implementation suitable by using the Microsoft HD-3000 Live Cam?
you can open it and look at the board on which the camera is soldered. if HD-3000 Live Cam looks like VX 2000 web cam then the board is too big to enter into any eye.
