I suggest if the head left-right rotate servo can modify to use a normal servo , without Hitch805BB, because i think we don’t need such a 25kg power to make the head turn left/ right
I don’t know how to modify the .stl file, else i want to try myself…. anyone knows if i should modify the .stl file directly or how i can do ?
To modify stl files, I do that with Blender using import / export stl function in the file menu
I have made that type of modification. You can find the files here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:992918
Hi wzj, Yes check the InMoov derivative collection, there is plenty of modifications using smaller servo for the head rotation.

Hey I just fused under Blender my recent modified TopMouth and LowBack. Rotated at 45° on the Z axe and they actually still fit in the correct 12cm3 build area !!
So now TopMouth and LowBack are permanently fused on the InMoov website. and can be screwed instead of being glued. Make sure to get the V3 version on InMoov.fr. I didn’t update my…En afficher davantage
This is awesome! The 2 topmouth pieces have always been kind of a pain to work with, so that will help alot.
Yes indeed, I also did a reprint with fused topmouth after coming back from India, the head had been damaged in the suitcase during flight travel. It is much easier to assemble now.
Now i adding the control elec part which buy from internet STM32 control board, ARM control board…, and the webcam also, for the webcam have the sdk that i can use to integrate image and sound into my Android control software 🙂 and @Geal, can i take my robot to join the china 2016 makefair show?
Great!! When is the Makerfaire in China and where? Let me know because we might organise something for this year’s Shenzen Makerfaire if time is okay. Hey isn’t the camera board a bit too big to get the eyes moving? Or will you dismantle the board to keep only the lens in the eye place?
1)Well, i look for the official website, but it still not says when and where is the shenzhen 2016 show, i will tell you as soon as possible when i get the latest news 2)Yes… the camera board is big, because it have wifi on it, in fact i take apart the cover of webcam and use it’s pcba board only. And i fix the board, so the eyes cann’t move. If…En afficher davantage

I’ve been working on truing up the Torso plates to get them to align better using a parametric modeler. Hopefully that will make adjustments easier and accuate. Here’s where I am so far. I’m trying to keep the parts as close to the originals as I can for this exercise. Here I’ve relieved the corners and standardized the dovetails. A 0.3mm gap…En afficher davantage
Hello Reece, Very clean remodeling! Did you try to print them to see how the parts fit and hold together, once the the 0,3mm gap is added?
Hi Gael, I made some test dove tails and they went together very nicely. I did find that there was some flexing/distortion so I’m adjusting. Was there an engineering reason for that style of dove tail?
I’ve been working on truing up the Torso plates to get them to align better using a parametric modeler. Hopefully that will make adjustments easier and actuate. Here’s where I am so far. I’m trying to keep the parts as close to the originals as I can for this exercise.
It seems very good Reece! I wonder if OnShape can open the more sculptured shapes like the for arms cover?
I think that a function called « loft » would be the tool for the task. It would involve sketching the profiles at various points along the arm then lofting through them. I have been using the plates from the torso as templates to « extrude » new parts. This has then allowed me to align the various openings and made these uniform in size. With…En afficher davantage
Well it took me a while but it is done!
New builders will have a lot more fun to assemble the skull now. I have set screw and bolts holders in various parts to make the last fit much easier. You can use 3mm screws and bolts to attach the parts together. I modified: -TopMouth -SideHear -LowBack
Ahhh, great, I had started to add flabs n stuff to keep them from falling apart.

nice work what is this servo motor?
Thank you amby! This is turnigy 1270HV 40kg servo. With some mods it can fit perfect.
Hello Aggelos, What are the mods you had to do to fit in the turnigy 1270HV 40kg? Some builders have a hard time to gather the Hitec 805bb, if the mods are minor, I could add this servo in the alternative servo list.
This looks great and seems to run really well. I’ve become concerned about the application of servos this way. Have any had the drive shaft get pulled out of the servo in these linear actuator applications? What about the place where the little screw holds the servo horn onto the splined shaft, any failed there?
@Reece, mine has been running for nearly three years now and the servos are still doing fine. The only thing that happens sometimes, the small screw that holds the horn wheel to the servo shaft gets loose, I bet using some blue Loctite component would solve the problem, but I never bought some to test.
That’s great, It was something that started bothering me the more I thought about it. I expect that for the service duty this is being put to that these are not a concern. I expect I’ve been among big machinery too long and with the self teaching over the years I’ve probably over analyzed this.
Mr. Gael sorry for late answer but first my school and then my inmoov, as my daddy said. The mods need to change some pieces. My dad make new stls and i print them. I will post photos of them.
Hello Agelos and welcome! Thanks for your pictures and your great built. Printing on a Mendel Prusa!! Carefull the neck is reverse mounted…

I broke my stand holder when I put the torso in a pipe. So, I redesigned with OpenScad the Gael’ stand holder and I made it customizable.

Hello Alberto, Good idea to make customizable with Openscad!!! I have added it to the InMoov collection. http://www.thingiverse.com/Gael_Langevin/collections/inmoov-parts-and-derivatives
Great to make it configurable! I have created some adjustable servo holders and are tempted by your entry to make them configurable too. Some limitations I read and maybe more work if I can’t reuse the original part. I will give it a try however.

I started building my InMoov in early December. I pretty much have everything together except the pistons. I had a lot of problems with the PLA printing I did and often had to sand or adjust parts. The pistons are the last piece of the puzzle. I think I’m going to try them in ABS.

Very good Jason!! I see that you got made some adepts to InMoov 🙂 What is your next progress on the assembly?
I want to get the arms on. I have had issues with bicep pistons threading, so hoping to get those working smoothly, might switch to ABS for them.
Jeff, that’s great!

@admin hello Gael, I look for the camera megapixel in left eyes, what is the reference please?? thanks you.
Hello lilly, it was a very cheap microsoft webcam. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Insten-USB-16.0-Mega-Pixel-Webcam-Camera-With-Microphone-Mic-For-PC-Latptop-Skype-MSN/43627769 But remember it is not HD, so if you plan to use Opencv in MyrobotLab, it will have a bit difficulty to do a correct face tracking. I recommend getting the Hercules HD Twist.
where i can get the back side of inmoov? now it only have battary box there but i saw some video, there have back cover fix it
Gael has not released the back covers for InMoov yet.
But, we are waiting for it impatiently
That’s correct, the back parts aren’t released yet. I’m currently working on the legs which is taking a lot of my spare time.

Does the mesh connecting the clavicles near the neck get in the way of the shoulder pistons?
No. as he is not having arms fitted, just head and sensors. he’s as big as he’s going to get!. I have another complete inmoov
Wow, nice finishing! How did you do it?
printed the parts @100 microns then sealed the parts with Acetone vapor. then sanded several times, they sprayed with filler/primer then glossed. very similar to how rentaprinta finished his Inmoov

InMoov in China!!! InMoov did it’s first Makerfaire in China in 2012. At the time it was only the prosthetic hand, not a full robot, and got awarded. Be carefull with those fireworks, your robot might get deaf from the blast!

Our InMoov (named Andy) is starting to come together! Andy will be part of our display on 3D printed robots at my university’s Engineering Open House come this spring.
Cool!! Is Andy connected or not yet? It seems on the picture that the cables are still running loose.
The connections in the picture weren’t yet hooked up since we had just finished the left-arm. Our power supply (5v (variable to 5.5v), 40A) just came in a few days ago. I’m waiting on a few more pieces and then everything will be wired up. We have tested servos individually, but soon we will be able to test it all together!
Very good! 5V power supply will be secure for your tests. Though I suggest, to increase speed gestures, it is better to use a 6V power supply. It makes a difference!
Thanks for the info! After some testing, the power supply I have (MeanWell LRS 200-5) allows for up to 5.8v, 38A capacity. I’m doing some testing this weekend and report back if it works well.

We built a wooden base, painted it, attached the robot arm, and now we've finally begun the meat of the arm project: modeling and movement! So far, we have one degree of freedom being modeled to a pretty accurate sense! You can see the arm following dans arm pretty nicely, which we honestly did not expect; the results are really good.Looking forward to having full arm modeling done soon! Hopefully this arm can actually do things :p! Publiée par Connor McLaine Pope sur Jeudi 28 janvier 2016
