Printing InMoov with a Makergear M2
Hello Tim, Thanks for the info!
Jason Irwin posted an update 9 years, 10 months ago
I started building my InMoov in early December. I pretty much have everything together except the pistons. I had a lot of problems with the PLA printing I did and often had to sand or adjust parts. The pistons are the last piece of the puzzle. I think I’m going to try them in ABS.
I took my InMoov to an Oracle Maker event. I was hoping to have h…[Read more]
Jason, I saw you at the show and I was inspired to start making my own InMoov. It is nice to see your comment here. Anyway, just thought you would like to know the positive affect you had on many people at the Oracle conference. I just completed the finger test. I am now printing the right hand. Jeff
Very good Jason!! I see that you got made some adepts to InMoov 🙂 What is your next progress on the assembly?
I want to get the arms on. I have had issues with bicep pistons threading, so hoping to get those working smoothly, might switch to ABS for them.
Jeff, that’s great!

@admin hello Gael, I look for the camera megapixel in left eyes, what is the reference please?? thanks you.
Hello lilly, it was a very cheap microsoft webcam. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Insten-USB-16.0-Mega-Pixel-Webcam-Camera-With-Microphone-Mic-For-PC-Latptop-Skype-MSN/43627769 But remember it is not HD, so if you plan to use Opencv in MyrobotLab, it will have a bit difficulty to do a correct face tracking. I recommend getting the Hercules HD Twist.

where i can get the back side of inmoov? now it only have battary box there but i saw some video, there have back cover fix it
Gael has not released the back covers for InMoov yet.
But, we are waiting for it impatiently
That’s correct, the back parts aren’t released yet. I’m currently working on the legs which is taking a lot of my spare time.

A Desktop InMoov. going good so far. spent time on the finish and added a few BlinkM`s for bling. running off a windows 7 tablet
WOW! That finish looks great!
Does the mesh connecting the clavicles near the neck get in the way of the shoulder pistons?
No. as he is not having arms fitted, just head and sensors. he’s as big as he’s going to get!. I have another complete inmoov
Wow, nice finishing! How did you do it?
printed the parts @100 microns then sealed the parts with Acetone vapor. then sanded several times, they sprayed with filler/primer then glossed. very similar to how rentaprinta finished his Inmoov
Hey nice work, looks great!!!! What are your plans for your “Desktop InMoov” ?
Hi bob – thanks. you can actually make Inmoov look very good with a bit more thought and patience on the finishing and build. its a great cosmetically pleasing robot.basically the idea behind it was to have a more portable one. so i can transport it and play around with the programming – plug in the power and sit it on coffee table or any room i…[Read more]
Very very good Nanomole! So your desktop InMoov will never have arms?
hi Gael..never say never…..i have another complete InMoov, just wanted a more portable fellow as well. he will probably end up with arms i think
Matt Davis posted an update 9 years, 10 months ago

Hi Starting a InMoov in a FabLab in Bordeaux Follow us on http://www.cohabit.fr/category/blog/
Super! La propaganda InMoov!! It’s actually my picture recolored? Are you planning to make your InMoov with this color scheme? That will be interesting, it will be the brother of wkinne InMoov.
http://myrobotlab.org/sites/default/files/users/user984images/photo%20(4)(2).JPG
Yes ! I love iron man colors !! It is a very exciting project. Thanks for your job
Well, thanks to Mr Gael , i have my own robot with your kindly share, i will continue develop it , now at china it’s chinese new year, i upload a picture to you and wish you all well 🙂
InMoov in China!!! InMoov did it’s first Makerfaire in China in 2012. At the time it was only the prosthetic hand, not a full robot, and got awarded. Be carefull with those fireworks, your robot might get deaf from the blast!

Our InMoov (named Andy) is starting to come together! Andy will be part of our display on 3D printed robots at my university’s Engineering Open House come this spring.
Cool!! Is Andy connected or not yet? It seems on the picture that the cables are still running loose.
The connections in the picture weren’t yet hooked up since we had just finished the left-arm. Our power supply (5v (variable to 5.5v), 40A) just came in a few days ago. I’m waiting on a few more pieces and then everything will be wired up. We have tested servos individually, but soon we will be able to test it all together!
Very good! 5V power supply will be secure for your tests. Though I suggest, to increase speed gestures, it is better to use a 6V power supply. It makes a difference!
Thanks for the info! After some testing, the power supply I have (MeanWell LRS 200-5) allows for up to 5.8v, 38A capacity. I’m doing some testing this weekend and report back if it works well.

What a great concept Markus! I will be glad to see that in Paris for the Makerfaire! Where did you get those relay boards? Do you have a link?
Hi! Here’s the link http://www.kjell.com/se/sortiment/el-verktyg/elektronik/arduino/shields/velleman-io-shield-p87866
Thanks a lot Markus!

We got even further on the robot arm project. We built a wooden base, painted it, attached the robot arm, and now we've finally begun the meat of the arm project: modeling and movement! So far, we have one degree of freedom being modeled to a pretty accurate sense! You can see the arm following dans arm pretty nicely, which we honestly did not expect; the results are really good.Looking forward to having full arm modeling done soon! Hopefully this arm can actually do things :p! Publiée par Connor McLaine Pope sur Jeudi 28 janvier 2016

We have successfully controlled the InMoov Robot Arm after taping a single Accel/Gyro IMU onto Daniels upper shoulder (IMU: http://www.ebay.com/itm/191698446532). This was the first time we tested it and we were very surprised at how well it tracked the movement,…[Read more]
Very good! Nice little video, I like the excitement about your project. It is very promising. Alessandro has done a lot of test with IMU sensors with his InMoov through MyRobotLab. You could check his various codes on Github.

Hi, I wonder if you can help me. I have printed out ClavifrontV2 and Claviback v2 and SternumV1. They don’t appear to fit together. I noticed there is no Sternum V2 for either front or back. The explanation mentions that one in the photos is the earlier version but it’s unclear which picture is being referred to. I assumed that…[Read more]
You can find the assembly guide here:
Shoulder, Torso and Chest assembly 3D view
ClaivifrontV2 should fit with SternumV1 on the front plate. ClavibackV1 fits with homplateback-1 and homplateback+1 in the back plate. You can find ThroatHolderV1 and ThrowtHoleV2 here : http://inmoov.fr/inmoov-stl-parts-viewer/?bodyparts=Neck

I was in París 2 years ago and it was better. 🙂
Amazing job dude
Few questions?
Any plan for real legs?
Do you need spanish translation for spoke instructions?
Thanks and congrat, your work is simply perfect

Ehi, thanks Alberto! I will add them to the InMoov derivatives collection.
Great! Printing and assembling this robot is the most educational and funny I’ve ever had.

Removable Forearm
When I started to wire my InMoov there heavent’t been Nervo Bords available so I did set up cabling with the method Mats showed on one of his posts – using Mini-Display cables and terminater boards. I first had my cables go right down into the forearm but this practically disabled the option of removing the forearm from the…[Read more]
Thanks for posting this. It looks very good. But I think you have seen it on Markus build, not mine. So all credits to him.
Hi Mats Thanks for pointing this out and sorry Markus for not mentioning you instead. I mixed up your names and it’s Markus who holds the record in disassembling InMoov for transportation in a suitecase!
Hi Juerg, the route that Markus took with these connectors was very impressive. Marten, Leon and I had already been working on the Nervo Board and had started the first batchs when I saw his connections, other wise we might have proposed something similar.

Hi dear, ı need your inmoov left hand ı downloaded but ı cant open, because ıt asked to me key , how can ı download , ı want to printering
I guess that you have the same problem as Humanoid a little bit down on this page. Windows doesn’t have any program to open .stl print files, so when you doubleclick on the file, windows will start the wrong program. Start the program you want to use, and open the file from there.
thanks….
Finally – took me a long time – the video, the description and the parts of the self levelling hand for InMoov

hello juerg interestinf wrist thank you for show us
Hi Juerg, Very good demonstration and video!! This looks very promising for handling beverages and other delicate tasks. I will Google+ your video and add the parts to the derivative collection because it’s very interesting progress.
I just wanted to thank you all for the replies I received for my modified hand from different sources. I hope to see soon a copy of my hand on other InMoov’s!
Hi, Does anyone know how to open the STL files in Windows 7? I keep getting a \’Certificate Trust List\’ error when I try to open the downloaded file? Does anyone know what this means?
This answer is in the Forum: You are using a Windows computer and the default file extension for STL is “Certification Trust List”. It’s a Windows thing. If you click directly on an STL file, you will get this message. You need to right click on an STL file and change the file association to whatever program you are using to view your STL…[Read more]
Thanks very much. Hopefully my new 3D printer will have the appropriate software to open these files when it arrives.
Your 3D printer software will be able to read the STL files and convert them to a format that the 3D printer can use (g-code). But if you want to change them, the you need a 3D modeling software. I and many other people use Blender. It’s open source and free to use. You can find it here: https://www.blender.org/ After installing it you also need…[Read more]
