Hi
I am about to start on this big project and I want to start with the head down like alot of the builds here. I want to print the eye section first. As I am new to 3d printing, would I need to use support material for the eye piece? If someone can direct me on what you did I can get started and post my progress.
Kind Regards
John
hi i am also new to 3d printing and am also trying to build the inmoov i just printed strait from the file worked OK for me
I thought I did read somewhere once that alot of the parts for the inmoov shouldn’t need support material. I will have to give a go and see how it turns out. How far have you got?
Ian
Hi Guys — Slice the parts “Without Support Material” then Slice “With Support Material” and see if any is Generated,,,,,, then use your best judgment to decide if it’s really needed,,,,

Great work! Looks like InMoov saw something coming out of the closet when you took the picture.

nice this roulette system
Super mobile plateforme! Are you going to use the kinect for slam mobility?
Thanks Gael! That is possible. For now is fun to have it remote control. Here it is rolling with a lot of people for 3 hours straight! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK3rZHgVgrw
InMoov named EVO runs around for 3 hours non stop greeting students at California State University, Long Beach – had a great time shaking hands with a lot of people in a very busy environment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK3rZHgVgrw

The big day finally arrived, where i had my first pleasant conversations with Robert! What a joy to finally see him come alive after spending so many hours on printing and build his head and right arm! Now i’m even more determined to get the rest done 😀
Congratulations! That’s gotta feel great. Hope to be at that stage soon.
It sure does 🙂
Congratulations, and be carefull, once hooked it will change your life. Inmoov isnt a hobby its a way of life. Keep up the good work!
Hehe, yea. It’s gonna be awesome 🙂
Very good! Did you see you can select various type of voices in the InMoov config of MyRobotLab.
Yea, I would have loved to give him a scottish accent, sadly they only got a womans voice for English scottish at acapela-group.com. My biggest struggle at the moment though is to get the face recognition to work. I need to have another look at that this weekend.

looks like fun:)
Indeed. But it certainly satisfy your desire to solder for a while, once your done with that set 😀
yes good kit of gael .presse a very fine iron failure
not sure about the best solder for those boards?
excited to warm this unit up:) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ARU9PO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I’m using standard electronic solder 1.0mm diameter. I recommend thinner diameter if you are not used to soldering. The XT60 headers need a good amount of heat to be correctly soldered.

Hi Gael, I am hoping to display my InMoov at a Makerfaire next year and would like to know if I can use some of your copyrighted photos in the gallery. Thanks, Dave
Let me know which one you want to use. Some are under Right reserved terms. For the other one, as long as the credits are correctly displayed, it will be good to have InMoov displayed in another Makerfaire. Which Makerfaire by the way? You can add your event in the calendar event…En afficher davantage
I would like to use two photos from the Gallery/photos section. They are labelled InMoovSkullSmall.jpg and DSC_0036bis2.jpg, or if you think you have more appropriate photos I would be happy to use them. The Makerfaire is located in the North East of England in the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne in the Life Science Centre on the 28/28th of April…En afficher davantage

Yep it is a long way but is coming along.
did the bottom thigh part fit on the top knee part ? yesterday i printed the left leg. i noticed when i line up the parts on the outside the holes dont match, they are off by 4mm
Hello Robert, My mistake, it’s fixed now. But you do not need to re-print, just extend the holes with a drill and it will do the trick.

Legs are coming together….
Woouiii, I can see that your printer is kept busy!
It is indeed! 🙂 It’s soooo cool to see these come together. Exciting times indeed! Thanks for the great work! 😀

Hello Sir, Thank you very much for Sharing your project so that students like me can learn Robotics. I have printed some parts already. Sir can you share printing guide for all the parts. I would be of great help if you could do it. I’m using ABS. Thank you very much Sir.

Watch your acceleration speeds, looks like they are too fast. If in doubt, slow down on speeds. And if your printer isnt properly calibrated the corners will be not sharp as yours arent. That can be tweaked with accel speeds and jerk in the eeprom settings. Also it depends onwhat printer you have. But 80mm/s infill is pretty fast. Start with slow…En afficher davantage
Sir I’m using Anet A8 printer with Cura software. As you told Sir, the corners are not sharp and nozzle temperature was bit high. Sir which slicing software you recommend me to use and also can you give me your slicer settings so that I will try them to get better understanding of 3d printer.
Regards, Adithya
Thank you very much for the settings Sir. I will try them today and will get back to you if I run into some problem.

My new Headbot stand perhaps? Great for the table top.
Handy! Not sure if the term is appropriate though…
Slowly moving forward with the robot. Remade the forearm in white and build the bicep and most of the torso. Hopefully i will be done with the head done by the end of this week.
New right foot!! Brilliant Gael – also are you going to upload the servo linkages?
What type of material are you using for your prints?
All in PLA, I have never used ABS. Seems to work fine even with gears etc. I am going to try PETG for my InMoov neck parts that keeps breaking [BH mod that Gael has recently updated]
That was my thought – It is too white for PLA… Could you say me from which company you bought your PLA? I am searching for the bright white you are having too!
The PLA is from Technologyoutlet.co.uk but I buy it from Amazon as its cheaper there. Always used this brand and its been good. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Premium-quality-filament-suitable-printers/dp/B00I8MRPDM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1509304225&sr=8-4&keywords=pla+filament+1.75mm
The PETG I am going to try is from e3D-online EDGE range

Hello, I want to print stomach en pla, how much infill do you recommend? 100%?
RollBackLeftV1.stl RollBackRightV1.stl RollFrontLeftV1.stl RollFrontRightV1.stl
100% is properly overkill ,,, 3mm to 5mm shell thickness and 30% to 50% infill is good allrounder for strong parts – ,, it’s really hard to give an exact printing method,,, everyone has their favourite methods/technics of printing and it depends on the slicer and extruder too ,,,
What mindless said is exactly right
