Dear Gael,
I’m part of the theatre ensemble http://www.meinhardt-krauss-feigl.com.
Our work allways is between new media and technology and the poetry of puppetry. We are planning to work with animatronic in our next piece “sensitive MACHINE”. For that we will have a research phase in April, a work residency in Oldenburg, Germany and we will have…[Read more]

Forearm alternate with more variations for hand positions?
Anybody interested in helping design an alternate InMoov forearm? I would like to move wrist rotation back into the elbow – eliminating string issues with wrist rotation. I would like to add more DOF for hand direction, something similar to Bob Huston head. I would also like to use…[Read more]

This is an interesting article. https://www.thesun.co.uk/living/2465605/meet-the-woman-who-fell-in-love-with-a-robot-she-3d-printed-herself-and-is-now-engaged-to-it/
thanks you 🙂
Is the article accurate?

Marvin fixing itself
LOL…. great video Juerg…. Glue maybe but I wouldn’t let Marvin near a soldering iron if I were you… I really need to learn how to prepare and edit video… On my list of things to learn this year…

@admin Hi Gael, I was watching the stomach video and you mention the mid stomach need a way to reverser the polarity the following product allow that.

That won’t work for this application for a few reasons… First and foremost no two servos accurately position the same… And if they don’t they tend “fight” each other… A second reason is you would have to solder the pot to both circuit boards… again, won’t work… see reason 1… The simplest and only way is to follow the tutorial Gael wrote….
Assembling Head, working on eye Assembly
Hello Richard,,, I’m pretty sure your skull cap is on backwards,,,, or mirrored,,,, or-the parts are back-to-front and on the wrong side,,,,, actually ,,,I’m not sure how the hell you done that,,,lol
Thank you, I will look at drawings
No worries,, It was like a lava Lamp I couldn’t stop staring at it,, I had the same problem in the 3d software to get the right orientation of the parts ,,,, it took me quite a few attempts before I got it right,,,
Fixed, Thank you

hey my ADHVIK 1.0 (InMoov family )hand is ready now
this’s your first printted hand ? Much more better then mine. I use the iron-heating to fit the holes.
@bretzel59 i am making bisep so HS-805BB This servo is so costly can i use any cheap servo alternate of this if yes then please provide me the link of that
Nope,,,, HS-805BB are the cheapest out there for their size,,, prices are all over the place with servos-,, have a look at quite a few web-shops before buying- you should be paying around $35usd for them- but check out the “postage cost” before buying ,,,
I use the HK15338. They are the same size and cost $15 USD. Available in the US too.
That”s a good price,,, they work alright,,?
Everything is a tradeoff. They are basically clones and can be modified in the same way as the 805’s. A little less torque, a little less speed but definitely usable. I have been happy with them.
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbykingtm-hk15338-giant-digital-servo-mg-25kg-0-21sec-175g.html
Try these ones, they are the same as the HS-805’s but only $27 USD. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLN94&P=4#technotes
Cool,,, I’ll get a couple of them for testing,,, at that price i can fry/destroy them without worrying about it,,,, going to use these in the end (see link) ,, providing i don’t find a problem with them- there a Australian clone of the Savox ,,,, but beefed up,,, not down,,,, bit pricey ,,, but the torque is good, and got the 7.2v option too…[Read more]
for the large servos I strongly recommend using heat-up fuses so it stops the current before burning up the servo. I anyway had expected that these servos would come with overload protection but the manufacturers seem to like them burning out …

After a long long time I have restarted my inmoov. I had some alignment issues with the PLA parts but i re-calibrated every thing and now I can restart this winter project again.
The only thing I have’nt figured out is how to get rid of the big gaps in the head en the chest plates. Maybe al need to glue them together. My pistons are making a loud…[Read more]
at least for the head you might find alternate parts that help to reduce the gaps. you can also try to fill the gaps with filler, 3d filament pistols or use a dremel filled with short filament pieces and do something like smoldering the pieces together. be prepaired to do a lot of sanding to get a good result
When It comes to using fillers/putty’s- there’s basically 4 types- stuff you use for -plaster board- in home building /renovation work– and there’s -Model putty- and there’s also the type for auto repairs with fibreglass reinforcement and a version without fibreglass reinforcement – and there’s Plaster Of Paris and Moulding Types The Plaster boa…[Read more]
Thanks Guy’s
I think I am going to attack it with a heat-gun and slowly heat up some parts and see if I can bend some parts a bit in to shape.
To be honest I don’t really like a smooth baby bottom head 😀 Getting the gaps closer together is enough for me. I will post some pictures when it done.
Funny you should say that,,, I’m not a fan of putty’s and paints either on my 3d printed stuff,,, my father was a panel beater back when car where made of Metal and I’ve done Moulding/ Home Renovation work before so I got pretty knowledge of putty’s / Fillers and Plaster,,,, Got a top of line heat Gun to fix parts that are warp are need a little…[Read more]

Hello InMoovers,
I like to include the FSR (Force Sensitive Sensor) to all my finger servo’s. https://learn.adafruit.com/force-sensitive-resistor-fsr For the starter_kit I’ve re-designed some servo adapter things, to make it possible to slide the servo forwards/backwards. Next step, is the position-holder for the FSR.
To get a idea how it looks:…[Read more]
BTW, the setup will be the same like this:
– Alan Timm (@gestalt73) September 16, 2016
First servo slider test run: tomorrow I hope to add the (to big) FSR sensor and see what it will do 🙂 (I’m still waiting for the smaller FSR’s)
hey Marten nice to see you are working on this. can’t really see from the picture how the servo will be able to move. is it mounted on the blue part? but then it would need 2 screw holes on each side in the blue part? and just realize that I do not know what servo make/type you are using.
Hi Juerg,
The servo is mounted with two screws to the blue part. the blue part has the option to slide in the light grey part. Here you will see both parts separated: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d25ghmdlwmo08mn/ServoHolder_Slider.jpg?dl=0
The servo which I’m using, is this…[Read more]
