226° is a high temp, the UM2 has a lower temp as the display is showing.
And with this temp I get good results 🙂
Sometimes I set the temp a bit lower, after the first 10 layers.

Looks good Anthony, I think only you need to start the fans from a higher layer !
I see a lot of warping at the bottom side, this happens when the PLA is cooling down to fast.
The best way is to start slowly with the fan speed around layer 30 (3mm if you are using 0.1mm layer)

Also check that the print bed is close to the nozzle. If the distance is to far, the first layer will not stick well to the bed. The first layer should create a solid piece of plastic without gaps.

From a math point of view, an excentric pulley will work very different. With two tracks, it’s just linear movements. The excentric can only work between very limited angles. With two tracks, you can rotate any angle. The ratio will still be the same.

Maybe reducing the filet height for the tendon, this way the pulley would be less high and wouldn’t cause a problem with the covers of the for arm.

Hi Juerg. I appreciate that you want to help. But from your answer, it is obvious that you don’t understand the basic problem. It has nothing to do with centering the servo. The servo needs to pull 27mm on one side to close the finger, while releasing 17mm on the opposite side. That is a difference of 10mm. Not a sum of 27 and 17. To open it…En afficher davantage

Maybe I see things the wrong way but I do not understand why you have to modify the pully. Set your servo to the middle position than add the pully with a 10 mm offset towards the closing side. In MRL define a mapping that covers the 44 mm range for the full movement with your servo?

      • Illustration du profil de Mats Önnerby
Mats Önnerby replied il y a 10 ans et 4 mois

To close one finger you need to pull 27mm but to open it again only 17mm, The 10mm in difference will result in that the lines easily fall out of the tracks, The servos will also have a deadband of 10mm before they start to pull, With this construction the lines will be stretched all the time, so the fingers will keep their position better.

    • Illustration du profil de Revwarguy
Revwarguy replied il y a 10 ans et 4 mois

The reason I am asking is if you think the springs that were introduced to keep the strings tight would still be needed ?

      • Illustration du profil de Mats Önnerby
Mats Önnerby replied il y a 10 ans et 4 mois

Good question. I don’t think that springs are necessary, but if you turn the wrist, the lines will be tightened. So you have to compensate for that by relaxing the tension on the lines a little,

Can’t really see why you want to modify the pully. Put your servo to middle position and add the pully with an offset to the closing position that will account for the different distances for opening and closing. The use the mapping feature of mrl to adjust the overall distance for your servo in use?

Here a video again, with the new servo pulley which is specially designed for a Finger movement.
It’s designed for servo’s which can turn a full 180 degrees.
This Pulley gives a better torque and there’s less change to move to much to destroy the servo or finger.

      Nice!
So the white is the elastic cord and it runs all the way to the end of the finger, if I juge the white spot at finger tip.
What kind of elastic cord? Don’t you think it will stretch more and more over time?
I also can see the asymetric effect on the black braided line.

Hi Gael and thanks for your comment and time 🙂

The elastic cord is a basic peace which you normally will use for clothes.

I’ve ordered some springs and have to wait they will be here.

      Hi Marten
I think before changing the pullies we should agree what the mechanical requirements are for the fingers.
In my arms I use mg996R and they can turn about 110 deg to the left and to the right (total 220). So when Gael says he can move all fingers with the exception of the middle one with an unmodified HK15298 servo which allows only 45…En afficher davantage

The good thing to use a 180 degrees pully, is that there is less change to break any mechanical parts.

Agree that individual pulley’s for your combination of servo and finger would be safest for builders. Just go 0 to 180 without having to worry about limits.

      Hey nice Marten!!
I like that Carbon PLA. I remember the parts you showed me in Eindhoven, the quality was very good!
Pulley rotates 90 degrees because the HK15298B digital servo recommended for the hand rotates only 90 degrees.

In the video posted by Sebastien, the idea is great! Specially if you drilled the holes a bit too wide.
But be sure that finger stays loose, in the video they are stiff, rigid, and that is not okay for the movement. The finger should move freely at each joint.

CarbonFil is PET based and PET is difficult to glue normally.

        1. I printed some parts together – like you know
        2. i use « one-second glue » to put the parts together
(that i will get one part)
        3. i use gast ( german « gips ») – then i drag the head
        4. i spray with primer.
        5. again drag the head

PS: I forgot one important info:

I printed all parts in PLA in 100% with a Ultimaker 2 in 0.1 layer thickness with 50 mm/s . So i one way it take a while, but on the other hand i have the possibilty to polish/drag/grind the part or cut small pieces away.

I think there is going to be interest with the legs you made.
Are you going to share the files as Open Source for others to download? If you do, let me know I wlll add the link in the InMoov derivatives.

And this Screen? Is this the « Under Test Touchscreen » or you invent this. What is the screen for?

What if to attach the tail with the wheels to the back the of the robot. The tail will confer resistance. The wheels can spin in one direction only.

It is a good idea of course, as a temporary feature.
I was thinking of using an assisting walker for the beginning.
And then when we figure a better way for the robot to walk, we could remove it.
