Awesome Finish,,, My Only warning is that Pressurized Vapor is actually about 1/8 to a 1/2 stick of TNT,,,, 2Tbps of Petrol Pressurized and Vapor is about 1/2 a stick,,, Acetone Can be just as dangerous So be Careful Dude,,,, they don’t normal tell you that in the Instruction Book,,,,,,, once again Awesome finish

Thanks Mindless. I didn’t know that but I will keep in mind. I don’t keep it under pressure when I smooth ABS in the vapor. I also make my own rocket fuel using confectioners sugar and potassium nitrate. Guess who is going to put a little acetone in with the mix……. (This GUY). If I blow my hand off I’ll let you know!

I see some builders still printing the original hand that I posted in 2011 on Thingiverse, instead of the updated version from the site.

      • Darn, I must have printed the early versions. I’m all glued up too. One of the pains of being one of the first printers. Oh well, mine seem to align a bit better and since I have a color transition it is not noticeable.

More for the Newbies ,,, but this is how to hold the Screw & Driver in one hand for “Hot Tapping” Screws in– you have about 20sec to tap the Screw in– heat with a lighter or candle until you feel it starting to burn your finger tip,,- this will make a Perfect Tap without “Stressing the Part”

      • Mine actually made themselves two parts after a couple of days use. No CAD needed. I wanted to preserve the original geometry because it offers about the right range of travel. So I glued them back on and instead of a short bolt I thru-drilled the hole and placed a much longer bolt through it. The bolt passes through the neck and into the…[Read more]

        • That was the original plan just to get a better resolution on the Ballends by printing them separately – but while I’m at it and Mr Gael makes a good point they really are to small and fragile for a major movement system,,,so I will build a Larger version of the Endballs so people have the option to pick and choose –,, Like always I’m a littl…[Read more]

Build a lot of strenghte with a LOT of plastic or a little metal. This is one of the more heavily stressed joints on the bot
I am sure either would work fine.

            • Gael’s design is completely unique because it does not require metal. All I am saying is that I am not pure and this is one of the few areas that metal solves a few problems.

\”nice looking system but really designed for ABS-\”–meant to say \”PLA\”

    • OK, I’ll bite. What is it?

      • ? a brand new dual extrusion head with coolers for the object and the extruders? Cooling the upper part of the extruder can prevent clogging – good. Enjoy the pic – once you start printing it won’t look as good as now!
for ooze free multiple extrusion in a single object have a look at this
        https://www.multec.de/Extruder_1

        • It’s a dual extruder upgrade for the Vertex K8400 3D printer from Velleman. I can easily identify it, since I have the same printer for almost 2 years now. It works very well for PLA printing. It makes it possible to print different colors, but more importand, different materials.
